Child Safety Center Empower. Protect. And Restore Children. Because every child deserves a great childhood. The center has three goals:

1.

Provide a child-friendly, safe, and secure environment for children who may have been sexually or otherwise seriously abused. The child is interviewed by a specially trained forensic interviewer. They are assisted with the interview by State Police, local law enforcement, the Sheriff Office, DHS medical and mental health professionals.

2. Provide whatever needed services or referrals to assist the child and non offending family members in the recovery process

3. Partner with community agencies to promote education, awareness and prevention programs through school-based programs, community events and fundraisers

Here at the Child Safety Center, we love hearing of all the good work that our Communities do to help children.

Junior Auxiliary of Searcy shares our goal in supporting kids and all of their needs. For the month of October, Junior Auxiliary has donated items that make our work here at the Child Safety Center easier.

We wanted to express our gratitude and encourage everyone to be involved in any local group that helps take care of our kiddos.

🍂Happy Fall Y'all🍂

We took the opportunity to celebrate the cooler temps with a delicious potluck Soup Lunch Day along with laughter and good conversations.

The work we do is difficult yet vital. These short moments to "pause" and simply enjoy good food and each others company is a small gift of of refreshment which helps us to continue this work with fervor. 💙

💙 THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! 💙

The support we received during our September Amazon Wish List Drive to help supply our upcoming Heber Springs location has been truly overwhelming!

We want to publicly THANK🫶🏼 each and every one of you who shared our posts, purchased items from our Wish List, or donated toward the purchase of items. Your generosity means more to us than we can put into words!

We would also love the opportunity to PERSONALLY thank you. Many of the items we received, in fact, most of them, did not include a gift receipt or any information identifying who sent them.

If you have not received a personal thank you from us, PLEASE send us a Direct Message to let us know about your gift! We would be honored to personally thank you for your generosity.

We are incredibly grateful for your support, not only of our organization, but most importantly, of the children and families we serve. Your generosity is helping us prepare a safe and welcoming space for the children who will be served at our new Heber Springs location.

💙From all of us, THANK YOU!💙

🏍️💙 COME OUT FOR THE OZARK TRAIL FESTIVAL & HELP US PLAY A PART IN HEALING CHILDREN! 💙🏍️

We are so excited to be part of the Ozark Trail Festival, hosted by the Rotary Club of Cleburne County, on Saturday, October 3rd at Spring Park in Heber Springs! 🎉

And if you love motorcycles-or just love a good community event-you won’t want to miss the Bike Show hosted by the Outsiders MC Red River Chapter! 🏍️✨

All bikes are welcome, so bring your bike and show it off! Bike Show check-in begins at 10:00 AM, and registration will be available on-site for a $20 entry fee. Even better, a portion of the proceeds from the Bike Show entry fees will be generously given back to the Child Safety Center to help us prepare to move into our new location in Heber Springs! 💙

And that’s not all—the Red River Chapter is also generously donating proceeds from the 50/50 drawing to support the CSC! We are so incredibly grateful for their heart for children and for helping us make this new location a reality. 🥹💙

Come spend the day enjoying food, fun, live music, a dog show, corn hole, and an incredible collection of motorcycles-all while supporting children and families in Cleburne County! 🐾🎶🌭🏍️

📅 Saturday, October 3rd
📍 Spring Park | 123 Frauenthal St., Heber Springs, AR

Every time you participate, you’re helping us get one step closer to opening our new Heber Springs location and ensuring that children who have endured abuse can receive the care, advocacy, and support they need closer to home.

Come have some fun. Bring your friends. Show off your bike. Enter the 50/50. Enjoy the festival.

And know that while you’re doing it, you’re helping empower, protect, and restore children in Cleburne County. 💙

We hope to see you there! 🏍️✨

🎉 We have TWO reasons to celebrate today! 🎉

Please help us welcome Rebecca Reilley, our newest Forensic Interviewer, to the Child Safety Center team — AND wish her a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Rebecca may be new to our staff, but she’s no stranger to our center! As a bilingual English and Spanish speaker, Rebecca has previously assisted our team with translation, and we are so excited to now officially have her joining us as a Forensic Interviewer. 💙

Her bilingual skills will be an incredible asset as we continue working to ensure every child who comes through our doors has the opportunity to be heard, understood, and supported.

We couldn’t think of a better day to celebrate Rebecca joining our team. Please help us give her a warm welcome AND wish her a very happy birthday! 🎈🎉

Welcome to the team, Rebecca! We’re so glad you’re here! 💙

RIGHTS OF THE CHILD

In 1989, the United Nations held a convention on the Rights of the Child. The following was said when referring to the rights of children:

“Children are not just objects who belong to their parents and for whom decisions are made, or adults in training. Rather, they are human beings and individuals with their own rights. The Convention says childhood is separate from adulthood, and lasts until 18; it is a special, protected time, in which children must be allowed to grow, learn, play, develop and flourish with dignity.”

The rights of children are often categorized as the three P’s:

✨Provision - the rights that enable a child access to adequate housing, food and education.
✨Protection - the rights to be protected from abuse or exploitation allow children to grow.
✨Participation - the rights to have children’s voices heard in decisions that impact them.

Here at the Child Safety Center, we value children and all their rights. We strive to make sure every child is heard and their rights are respected.

We encourage everyone to take the time to learn about child rights and what they can do to help make sure our children stay safe and protected. 💙
