🌟 Community. Connection. Opportunity. 🌟

The Training Source was proud to participate in the City of Seat Pleasant’s 95th Anniversary Seat Pleasant Day celebration. Representing TTS as community partners, Mikias Stewart and Debbie Rena connected with residents and families around workforce development, career training, education, and economic mobility opportunities.

As a proud organization headquartered in Seat Pleasant, this event was especially meaningful to us. During the celebration, approximately 15 individuals expressed strong interest in our programs and services, creating valuable opportunities to share pathways for professional growth and career advancement.

From youth performances and school bands to collaboration with organizations across the DMV, Seat Pleasant Day highlighted the power of community, partnership, and collective impact. We’re grateful to continue serving and growing alongside the communities that support our mission every day. 💛

🎓 Congratulations to Cohort 3 of The Training Source’s Customer Service Certification Program!

On May 8, we proudly celebrated 6 graduates who are now officially Certified Guest Service Professionals, averaging an impressive 86% on their certification exam. This credential reflects their successful completion of the knowledge and experience requirements and their commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism within the hospitality industry and beyond. The principles of exceptional guest service extend across industries and career levels, preparing participants for success in a variety of workplace settings.

Deputy Director Lynnette Pair Young opened the ceremony and introduced our guest speakers. We were especially excited to strengthen new partnerships with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office Back on Track Program, which referred two participants to the training. Both individuals successfully completed the program and earned their certification.

We thank Back on Track Program Coordinator Robert Johnson and Case Coordinator Marc Tyler for joining us to congratulate the graduates and share words of encouragement, reflection, and inspiration. We also appreciated remarks from Ivan Cloyd, Director of Economic Development for the City of Seat Pleasant, who shared a powerful testimonial with the cohort.

✨ Our next and final Customer Service Certification cohort of the season is approaching! The program will return again in late summer/early fall. If you are interested in earning an industry-recognized credential sooner rather than later, apply today at www.thetrainingsource.org or call 301.499.8872 to attend an information session.

Last month's Youth Leadership Program (YLP) hosted a lively and engaging session centered on “Fun Day / Fun Night.”

The student work group facilitated thoughtful discussions and interactive activities focused on the importance of having fun, building healthy social connections, practicing teamwork, and finding creative ways to engage in activities while staying within a budget. Participants enjoyed board games, painting activities, team-building exercises, and even a movie segment that encouraged conversation and connection among peers.

As the 2025–2026 school year begins to wind down, we are excited to prepare for our final regular YLP session of the year, which will focus on the important topic of self-esteem. We look forward to continuing to empower our young leaders as they build confidence, strengthen their voices, and grow both personally and professionally.

✨ Empowering youth. Building leaders. Creating community.
