Dear Shelterwood Members,
Sorry for the sudden goodbye. I was “let go” on Monday. After a hard conversation on Friday afternoon, I could feel it coming. So Monday morning, I got as much work done as I could before I left. I organized my work tasks so that hopefully nothing fell through the cracks for you. If you received an email from me that morning, regarding some aspect of your membership, I was sending it knowing it would likely be my last touch point with you.
I loved the work I was doing. I loved getting to know you and your work. I loved being in the offices at Pioneer Square. I loved the mission of Shelterwood.
I was only in my role as Operations Manager for 4.5 short months. Can you believe that? It felt longer. Perhaps because during my time there I was meeting people I was destined to meet. And there was a many lifetime connection feeling with so many of you.
I’m grateful for what I learned. Both in my work, and in this letting go. I will likely share more at some point, since I believe we all can learn from one another’s lived experiences. And, it always helps me when I share honestly about my life. Helpers, teachers and clues find me that way.
For now, I’m decompressing. Soaking up this unexpected extra time with my kids (human and fur). Reconnecting with friends. Getting back on track with my marathon training.
Getting let go from this job is actually not the hardest thing I have going on in my life right now. The other hard things are not solely mine to share though, so I don’t talk about them publicly here.
We all carry multitudes. The intense crescendo and then sudden ending of my time at Shelterwood is now another experience added to the multitudes I carry.
Thank you for reading. I’m grateful to have shared this part of my journey with you.
Sending peace & Reiki,
~Katie
