Dr. Robin Kang, MD (he/him pronouns, last name pronounced "khang" or "ghang") attended medical school at Loyola University Chicago's Stritch School of Medicine. His interest in medicine emerged through undergraduate studies in philosophy and the cultural context of health and medicine. His sense of caring for the elderly is rooted in his upbringing in a dual-cultural, multigenerational home. Dr. K

ang received post-graduate training in full-scope family medicine, encompassing everything from prenatal to hospice and nursing home care. He learned through his experience in family medicine the importance and value of personal, ongoing relationships with patients, a lesson that ultimately inspired his transition to training in psychiatry. He completed his residency training in psychiatry at the University of Washington. He served as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the UW Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and gained his experience in geriatric psychiatry through work as an attending psychiatrist at UW Medical Center - Northwest’s geropsychiatric unit, providing ECT (electroconvulsive therapy) treatments for patients, and seeing patients in the intensive outpatient program.
