Could your dental implant be contributing to inflammation in your body?

While some patients tolerate titanium implants well, others may experience differently. We've seen an increasing number of patients who are experiencing symptoms such as:

• Gum inflammation around the implant
• Burning or tenderness
• Delayed healing
• Chronic inflammation
• Fatigue or brain fog
• Skin reactions or sensitivities

Every patient is unique, which is why a personalized and biocompatible approach matters. At Biological Dentistry, we focus on both oral health and whole-body wellness when evaluating treatment options.

Your mouth is connected to the rest of your body.

⚡ Your Mouth Could be a Battery. LITERALLY. METAL fillings and crowns can create ELECTRICAL currents inside your mouth. Your saliva can literally turn your dental work into a tiny battery. 😳

This is called oral galvanism, a reaction that happens when different metals like silver amalgam, gold, or titanium implants interact inside the mouth.

Some people notice:
⚡ metallic taste
⚡ burning sensations
⚡ unexplained sensitivity
⚡ headaches or strange symptoms

Your mouth was never designed to function like an electrical circuit.

In biological dentistry, we look at how dental materials may affect the entire body — not just the teeth.

Sometimes the issue is not the tooth itself… but the chemistry happening between the metals sitting inches away from your brain and nervous system.

🦷 Holistic dentistry focuses on biocompatible materials that work WITH the body instead of against it.

Thinking about dental implants but worried about what goes into your jaw?
While titanium has been the gold standard for years, more patients are reporting sensitivities and systemic reactions.
The most common risks of titanium implant in the mouth include metal corrosion over time and the release of ions into the surrounding gum tissue.
📍 This process, known as galvanism, can lead to chronic inflammation or even unexplained oral pain.
Understanding these titanium dental implant complications is essential before committing to a permanent procedure.
Exploring the hidden downsides of metal hardware can help you decide if a holistic, ceramic alternative is a better fit for your body.
Many people don't realize that metal allergies can manifest as localized bone loss or implant failure long after the surgery is complete.

Fluoride has been widely used in dentistry for decades — but many patients today are beginning to ask deeper questions about total fluoride exposure and whole-body health.

While fluoride may help strengthen enamel, excessive exposure has also raised concerns regarding:
• Dental fluorosis
• Skeletal fluorosis
• Thyroid health
• Neurodevelopmental concerns
• Total body burden over time

At Biological Dentistry, we believe oral health should be approached from a more personalized, whole-body perspective. Rather than applying the same approach to every patient, we consider factors such as:
🦷 Oral microbiome balance
🥗 Nutrition
💧 Saliva health
🌿 Inflammation
🧠 Overall wellness

The goal is not fear. The goal is informed decision-making and individualized care.

A healthy mouth is connected to far more than just your teeth. ✨

Your mouth is home to billions of bacteria, both good and bad. This ecosystem is known as your oral microbiome, and it plays a much bigger role in your health than most people realize.

An unhealthy oral microbiome has been linked to:
• Bleeding gums
• Cavities
• Chronic inflammation
• Bad breath
• Gut imbalance
• Heart health concerns
• Even autoimmune conditions

At Biological Dentistry, we look beyond just “clean teeth.” Our goal is to help create a healthier BODY starting from a balanced oral environment by addressing bacteria at the root level through a more biologically focused approach.

A healthy mouth is not just about your smile — it is connected to your whole body. 🦷✨

Are all dentists the same? Not exactly! 🤔

While conventional dentistry focuses on patching up the symptoms, holistic and biological dentists look deeper to find and heal the root cause of the issue.

🦷 Conventional Dentistry: Focuses primarily on your teeth. The goal is to treat the specific tooth, fix the immediate problem (like a cavity), and get you on your way.

🌱 Holistic/Biological Dentistry: Treats your mouth as a gateway to your entire body. We look at how your teeth, jaw, and oral microbiome impact your immune system, systemic health, and sleep.

Here’s what changes when you go biological:
1️⃣ Biocompatible Materials: We swap out metals and harsh chemicals for materials that work with your body’s natural biology (like ceramic implants and BPA-free, metal-free, fluoride-free resins).
2️⃣ The Root Cause: We don't just patch up a cavity; we look at your diet, airway, and lifestyle to figure out why it happened in the first place. The answer is NEVER "floss and brush more."
3️⃣ Mercury-Safe Practices: We use strict safety protocols (like the SMART method) to remove old silver fillings to minimize the toxin exposure to our patients, staff, and the environment.

Your mouth isn’t separate from your body—it’s the frontline of your health! 🌟

Can a dead tooth cause chronic inflammation? 🩻👇

In traditional dentistry, if a tooth nerve dies, the standard answer is a root canal. They clean the tooth, seal it, and leave it in your mouth.

But let’s look at this biologically: nowhere else in medicine do we leave a dead organ inside the human body.

Because teeth have miles of microscopic microscopic tubules, it is virtually impossible to sterilize a dead tooth 100%. For some people with strong immune systems, this is fine. For others dealing with chronic fatigue or autoimmune flares, that hidden bacteria can place a constant burden on the body.

Are there biological alternative treatment options? Yes, but there is no one-size-fits-all answer.

At Dentistry (Formerly Knonwn as Seattle Dental Care), we give patients options and tis associated risk and benefit. DECISION is yours to make.
