Vitamin D and acne.

If you have acne-prone skin, check the dose on your Vitamin D supplement.

I see clients taking mega doses of Vitamin D without having their levels tested or being told by their doctor that they need that dose.

Low Vitamin D levels have been associated with acne, but that does NOT mean more Vitamin D = clearer skin.

Vitamin D is fat-soluble, so your body stores it, and more isn’t always better.

If your provider has you on a higher dose for a deficiency, follow their guidance. Otherwise, please don’t self-diagnose with mega doses. ☀️

Save this & go check your Vitamin D label.

Clear the acne first. Treat the pigment and scars second.

One of the biggest mistakes I see is people wanting to jump straight into treating acne scars while they're still breaking out.

Every new breakout has the potential to create new post inflammatory hyperpigmentation and new acne scars, so clearing the acne is always the first priority.

This client has done the hard work, and now that their acne is under control, we're ready for the next phase of their transformation.

This summer, we're transitioning into microneedling to improve acne scarring, refine skin texture, and continue building on the results we've achieved together.

The best transformations happen in stages, not overnight.

Stay tuned... more progress photos are coming!

This transformation is proof that treating acne isn't just about what you add, it's also about what you remove.

Pore-clogging ingredients hidden in cleansers, moisturizers, makeup, or sunscreen can continue to fuel breakouts, making it difficult to see the results you're working so hard for.

Every acne journey is different, which is why a personalized treatment plan and acne safe home care are so important.

If you've been doing "everything right" and your acne still isn't improving, it may be time to take a closer look at your skincare routine.

Blackheads are caused by oil, dead skin cells, and congestion building up inside the pore, not “dirty skin.”

The best way to treat blackheads:

Extractions from professional treatments with chemical peels

Homecare with consistent use of Salicylic Acid exfoliation

Hydration through a balanced acne safe routine to manage oil production

One of the biggest mistakes? Over drying your skin trying to remove oil.

Dehydrated skin can actually trigger MORE oil production and congestion.

Clear pores come from consistency + proper skincare.

If your acne is gone but you’re still left with pink or red spots on the skin, you may be dealing with post-inflammatory erythema (PIE).

PIE is the lingering redness left behind after inflammatory acne heals and treating it correctly matters.

Some of my favorite ingredients for post-acne marks and PIE:
✨ Lactic Acid
✨ Alpha Arbutin
✨ Kojic Acid

I love GlyMed Plus Brilliant Tone because it combines all three to help support skin renewal, brighten discoloration, and improve the appearance of post-acne redness without being overly harsh on the skin barrier.

Stop over-stripping your skin trying to “scrub away” acne marks 👏

Do eggs cause acne? 👀

For some people, the answer might be YES.

Eggs can contribute to acne through:

🥚 inflammation
🥚 hormone signaling
🥚 immune reactions

And if you’re struggling with stubborn acne, hormonal acne, or acne around the chin and jawline, eggs could be one of your acne triggers.

The protein in eggs, called albumin, may be difficult for some people to digest, which can increase inflammation in acne-prone skin.

Now this doesn’t mean eggs cause acne for everyone. But if your breakouts keep coming back no matter what skincare products you use, it may be worth testing.

Try removing eggs for 30 days and monitor:

✨ inflammation
✨ hormonal acne
✨ jawline breakouts

Have you ever noticed breakouts after eating eggs?

One of the most common acne mistakes I see is overloading the skin with actives and skipping hydration.

Benzoyl peroxide, retinoids, exfoliants, they all have a place. But when they’re stacked without barrier support, skin ends up irritated, inflamed, and harder to heal.

Healthy skin isn’t just about treating breakouts it’s about supporting your barrier so those treatments can actually work.

BALANCE = better results

Most people don’t realize this…

Over-the-counter skincare often turns into a cycle:

Buy product → skin dries out → buy another product → skin reacts → buy even more → still breaking out.

Why?

Because acne-prone skin usually doesn’t need MORE products. It needs the RIGHT routine, used the RIGHT way.

That’s the difference between guessing…and working with a professional.

Professional acne treatments are different because your routine gets adjusted based on:

✔ your skin barrier
✔ inflammation
✔ sensitivity
✔ breakouts
✔ progress over time

Real acne treatment isn’t random. It’s customized.
And that’s how you get:

✨ clearer skin
✨ less irritation
✨ long-term results

If your skincare routine keeps making your skin worse instead of better, stop chasing the next best product and start focusing on strategy.

DM me “ACNE” or book a consultation if you’re ready to stop guessing and finally clear your skin.
