According to Boklage’s PubMed-indexed article, Survival Probability of Human Conceptions from Fertilization to Term, only about 24% of natural single conceptions survive to birth.

Life is fragile, mysterious, and profoundly precious from its very beginning.

Motherhood, parenthood, and life itself are such beautiful gifts. Today, I am holding twins, rainbow babies, and still marveling that suddenly, one became two.

Being a mother is one of the most precious callings I can imagine.

Motherhood comes in so many beautiful forms.

It comes biologically, through adoption, fostering, caregiving, grandmothers, godmothers, aunties, sisters, friends, and every woman who nurtures life with love.

It also comes through the quiet, steady work of holding mothers, such as doulas, caregivers, helpers, and encouragers; as they bring life into the world and grow into their own motherhood.

Every life is precious, every mothering heart matters, and every person here is a wonder.

Today, hold your babies a little closer, and hold your mother a little tighter. Thank your mom, if you can, for the gift of helping bring you into existence.

Happy Mother’s Day, with gratitude for the beauty of life and the women who help nurture it. 🤍

Babies are human beings, and humans feel pain. Medical evidence shows that pain perception develops before birth, and newborns do experience pain during medical procedures, including circumcision.

This is about empathy, not blame or politics. It’s about acknowledging the lived experience of the smallest and most vulnerable among us.

When we understand that babies feel pain, we are invited to respond with greater gentleness, care, and respect. Humanity calls us to do no less.

✨ I’m still learning new things, even after almost five full years as a doula! 💛

Today I finally dove into the world of wraps and carriers! I am figuring out what style feels best for my body, my posture, and what makes me feel truly safe and supported. I have avoided it due to not feeling the most comfortable.

Babywearing is such a beautiful, individualized experience. The “right” carrier is the one that helps you feel confident, aligned, and connected all while keeping your baby safe and your posture strong. 🌿

A huge thank you to Hannah for her wisdom, and to the Heybrook library for letting me explore their amazing selection of carriers. I feel like my babywearing journey is just beginning, and it’s already off to a wonderful start!

Here’s to learning, growing, and supporting families with new skills, no matter how long we’ve been at it. 🤍

Today I brought another load of gently used baby items and parent products to my friends at Next Step Pregnancy Services!

A huge thank-you to everyone who helps donate! You’re not just clearing space in your home or garage, you’re changing lives. ❤️

Every stroller, onesie, and bottle you pass along keeps these items out of storage and the landfill, and puts them directly into the hands of families who need them most.

4 lemons goes a long way before needing to directly throw the left over in the compost 🍋💛

Here is what I made today for my lovely postpartum client! (In pictures.) 🌞

🍋Lemon Bliss Balls (Protein Snack Bites)
🌼 1 cup cashews (walnut, almond, pistachio, or your choice!)
🌼 1 ½ cup shredded coconut or coconut flakes
🌼 3 tablespoons honey (sub maple syrup for vegan)
🌼 ¼ cup lemon juice
🌼 2 tablespoons lemon zest 🤌
🌼 2 tablespoons h**p seeds
🌼 ½ cup vanilla protein powder
🌼 ½ tsp vanilla extract
🌼 optional: 2 tablespoons poppy seeds
🌼 optional: ¼ milk if consistency is too this
🌼 optional: roll on tiny coconut flakes

🍋Lemon Water and Honey
🌻Boil water
🌻Pour over lemon slices 🍋
🌻Add honey 🍯

🍋Lemon pops for a toddler’s hot days + 🍋Sorbet for the adults
✨ left over pulp
✨whipping cream ¼ cup
✨honey 🍯
✨monk fruit to taste
✨warm water ½ cup
✨food process
✨add to mold of choice

🍋Lemon Cleaner
🫧 soak lemon peels in vinegar
🫧 use as kitchen spray

🍋Throw some down the garbage disposal with vinegar, baking soda and hot running water

🍋Compost the rest!
