You deserve to know. Earlier menopause (surgical or non-surgical) is associated with a higher risk of development of Parkinson’s disease. This is where informed conversations need to happen. Does this mean you don’t get the surgery if you need it? No, but you deserve the right to have all the information and take every extra preventative measure you can to decrease risk of developing diseases like Parkinson’s ♥️

Like exercise, eating Whole Foods diet, filtering your air and water. You know just the foundational things 😉

🧪 Oh, the nuances of hormone testing!

I wish it was straightforward, but it is not. A lot of physicians have anecdotal blood levels they like to achieve, but rarely is it based off of evidence.

At the end of the day, we definitely go based off of your symptoms. And I didn’t even touch testosterone or progesterone in this.

I’m ready for the day we know the blood estradiol level that shows neuroprotection, how about you?

Until then, we will do what we can with the information we have. And continue to exercise, eat all those greens and beautiful colors of the rainbow, drink our coffee/caffeine, filter our water and our air, and do all we can to protect our brains 🧠♥️
