Living Longer with Cancer: Rethinking Survivorship
Science Will Win

A recent episode of Pfizer's Science Will Win podcast takes a clear-eyed look at what survivorship actually means today, featuring Cancer Nation CEO Shelley Fuld Nasso, breast cancer survivor Bob Riter, and others working at the intersection of cancer care, work, and policy. From the misleading mythology of the five-year survival mark to the invisible toll of returning to "normal life," the episode asks what it takes to truly support the 18 million people living with, through, and beyond cancer.

What They’re Saying: "It's not over when it's over," said Shelley Fuld Nasso. "The treatment is over, but cancer's not over." The episode directly connects survivorship support gaps to the kind of systemic change Cancer Nation has demanded for decades, including reimbursement for Survivorship Care Plans and whole-person care that doesn't end when treatment does.

Life on Pause — a podcast and video series made by young adult cancer survivors, for young adult cancer survivors.

Finding Your Voice After the Bell: A PhotoVoice Journey of Young Adult Cancer Survivors

For a lot of young adults, that's where the harder questions begin — not the medical ones, but the ones about identity, grief, and how to talk about an experience that most people around you haven't had.

In this video from Life on Pause, five young women used photography to tell the parts of their cancer story that words couldn't reach. The result is honest, specific, and unexpectedly freeing to watch.

What happens when treatment ends but the journey continues? For young adult cancer survivors, the ringing of the bell marks not an ending, but the beginning of some…
