This is a great video (4:40) that explains the science behind why mutations happen, and how with continued spread it makes the virus more dangerous. The reason we have Delta, which is much more contagious and deadly, is because we haven't controlled the spread. This is significant in discussions regarding personal choice - how your decision has clear consequences and real impact on communities at large. If more were vaccinated sooner all over the globe, Delta might not have developed.

It's very important to understand that our seemingly personal choices can harm or help those around us.
