A recently returned patient, Dean T., who I haven't seen for some years, told me for some time now he's been able to do vigorous physical work. (See, Dean - you WERE listening! lol) He's back to keep himself tuned up for a project that's meaningful to him. He was gracious enough to send me his musings:

"Here’s what came to mind this morning…", he wrote.

"Toni is a body geek. She has this passion for figuring out the intricacies of each and every body. A car plowed into my butt in 1971. Nothing broke, but PT wasn’t much of a thing back then, and I ended up with a lot of scar tissue and a slow accumulation of dysfunction. Tried so many things over the years without much effect until I met Toni. She’s the first person who truly understood what was going on in there, so she knew best where and how to apply her tools. Grateful to have found her!"

With the news that the indoor masking order will expire on March 11, I want to let my patients and future patients know that masking is still required in healthcare settings. As a licensed healthcare provider, I'll continue to follow that guideline.

People who are immunocompromised, unvaccinated, or feel sick should wear masks to protect themselves and others when in indoor public spaces. Children ages 2-4 are encouraged to wear a mask with adult supervision. Babies and toddlers under age 2 should never wear masks.

Solvent, shock absorber, spacer, lubricant, transport medium- in short Ya Need to Drink Water! even when you're not feeling thirsty. This is particularly true for older folks who lose the thirst cue.

Water, the main component of the body, is distributed in the extracellular and intracellular compartments. Water exchange between these compartments is mainly governed by osmotic pressure. Extracellular water osmolarity must remain within very narrow ...

Studies are showing it comes down to strength. The key is steady progression. Everyone can improve their strength!

Scientists have been debating whether muscles contract more slowly as you age, but new data suggests the real problem is a loss of strength

"Lasting change requires lasting attention. " The best takeaway from this piece!
What keeps YOU moving toward a goal? How do you keep focus in the blur of "asks" flooding you?

When's the best time to start a new habit? And what makes some stick while others fall by the wayside? Behavioral scientist Katy Milkman's new book, How to Change, breaks down the research about how to leverage human nature instead of working against it to achieve your goals.
