I am taking a leap of faith and trying something completely different. Over the past few years I have become very interested in the how the body and soul effect each other. I learned that a healthy soul = a healthy body, it is as simple as that. In order to strengthen my body and soul, I chose to learn a practice that is used to heal the soul and it is called Reiki
(pronounced ray-kee). Reiki is
a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. I realized that I could help more people if I also learned how to work with the physical body. In Oct. 2014 I graduated from an AMAZING school - ITMB in Chadds Ford, PA and became a licensed massage therapist. I have learned so much about how the mind, body and soul work together and define our lives. I have also learned how we can work within ourselves to make our lives better.
