This Wellness Wednesday we are focusing on something that a lot of people have in their refrigerator right now - Milk.

Did you know drinking too much milk can cause anemia? That is why we like to limit intake to between 16 to 24 ounces a day.

This week’s Wellness Wednesday topic is - FLU.

As we 🍁fall🍁 into the most festive time of the year, flu season is around the corner. Our flu vaccines have arrived. We have both the flu shot and flu mist.

We have walk-in hours from 9 to 11:30 and 1 to 4:30 for vaccines. As you start planning your family gatherings, remember, it takes about 2 weeks to achieve protection from the vaccine.

We are halfway through the week! That can only mean one thing - it’s Wellness Wednesday!

Today’s topic - FEVER.

The school nurse calls and tells you your child has a fever. Now what? Don’t panic! Fever is your body’s way of fighting infection. Medically, it is a body temperature (you don’t need to add a degree) of 100.5 F or higher.

While fevers can make even the happiest kid feel miserable - rest, clear fluids and over the counter medicines such as Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen can help. Starting at 2 Months, your child can have Acetaminophen. We wait until 6 Months to use Ibuprofen.

If your child’s fever does not respond to medication, they aren’t acting like themselves, or you are concerned - give us a call! With our same day sick policy, if you call by Noon, we will see you that day. After Noon, same day appointments are subject to availability.
