Most families don’t know the difference between home care, assisted living, memory care, or Home Plus… until they’re suddenly forced to make a decision.

And when that moment comes, the overwhelm is real.

In this episode of Dementia, Decoded™, I break down:
• The different levels of senior living support
• When each option actually makes sense
• And how families can begin making more informed, confident care decisions

Because not every care option fits every stage.

And choosing support isn’t “giving up.”
Sometimes… it’s the safest and most compassionate next step.

What if we’ve been looking at dementia backwards?

Most families think dementia begins with a diagnosis.

But often…
it begins with patterns.

Subtle shifts in memory, judgment, communication, behavior, and daily functioning that families feel long before they know what to call it.

In this LinkedIn article, I explore why so many families feel confused, overwhelmed, and stuck — and why understanding patterns over time can change everything.

Because one moment doesn’t tell the story.

Patterns over time do.

Most people think dementia begins with a diagnosis. It doesn’t.

Not the version they expect…
The version you were created to be.

Full interview dropping this week!

Choosing the wrong in-home care can cost families time, money, and peace of mind.

Not all care models are the same — and most families don’t realize that until they’re already overwhelmed.

This week on Mind Matters, I’m joined by JC Pfeister, owner of Seniors Helping Seniors, to talk about:

✔ how their senior-to-senior caregiving model works
✔ why caregiver matching matters more than people think
✔ what makes them different from traditional agencies
✔ and how families can choose the right support with confidence

If you’re caring for an aging parent or loved one, this conversation could change how you approach care.

Too Young for This - What if dementia didn’t wait for retirement?

What if it showed up while you were still raising kids, building your career, paying off student loans, or just trying to enjoy midlife?

Dementia isn’t just a disease of old age.
In this video, I open up about the painful reality of younger-onset dementia—when symptoms begin in your 30s, 40s, or 50s.

This isn’t the story of aging, 80-year-old grandparents. Its parents, professionals, and partners caught off guard by something they never saw coming.

Let’s talk about the emotional, financial, and social toll it takes—and why awareness matters more than ever.

Watch “Too Young for This” and help me spread the message.

Have you experienced this in your family or workplace?

Ever noticed when your loved one struggles to find words—but you still feel what they mean? 💜

That’s because language may fade, but emotion still speaks loudly.
In Alzheimer’s, FTD, and Primary Progressive Aphasia, the brain’s language centers (temporal and parietal lobes) are affected—making communication hard, but connection still possible.

💡 Try this:
💜 Use gestures and photos to guide meaning
💜 Speak calmly, with rhythm and warmth
💜 Validate the feeling, not just the words

Follow for more — where we explore the real, human side of caregiving and brain change.

Life’s too short to worry about crumbs — feed the joy, not the stress. 🕊️

When you stop sweating the small stuff, life hands you something sweet… or swoops in to take it right from your hand. 😉🌊

🧠 “Word Salad” in Dementia: When Words Stop Making Sense

They’re not “talking gibberish.”
Their brain just can’t find the right words anymore. 💔

That’s called word salad — a heartbreaking but human part of dementia.

Listen with your heart, not your ears.
