Significant accessibility news from the CDC!

New guidance from the CDC and other key federal agencies offers important guidance and clarification about access for service animals in biomedical and microbiological laboratories.

Specifically, "When entities conduct risk assessments and establish policies that accommodate service animals, such practices should comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and
regulations. Importantly, the BMBL lacks the authority to mandate changes to institutional practices or policies and should not be used as a basis to deny reasonable accommodations or service requests."

To learn more, check out the new publication "Clarification on Service Animals in Laboratories" -https://www.cdc.gov/labs/pdf/Clarification-on-Service-Animals-Laboratories-Compliance-with-Federal-Laws-and-BMBL-Guidance.pdf

🐾 Love on Leashes: A Medical Alert Discovery Camp 🐾 🥰
Empowering Youth through Connection, Education, and Wellness

Is your child navigating the challenges of Post tTaumatic Stress Injury, (PTSI) anxiety, depression, or POTS? Join the National Institute of Canine Service and Training (NICST) for an inspiring, hands-on day at our Love on Leashes Kids Camp. 🐕 This program is specially designed for youth (ages 18 and under) and their families to explore the life-changing world of Medical Alert Service Dogs.

What to Expect 👀
This isn't just a day at camp—it’s an introduction to a new path of support. Our curriculum blends professional emotional wellness with the practical magic of a service dog partnership:

Expert Guidance: Participate in sessions led by a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), focusing on emotional wellness and how a service dog can help mitigate symptoms of chronic conditions.

Meet the Dogs: Get up close with our Medical Alert Service Dogs, including our beautiful Lab/Golden crosses. Watch live demonstrations of how these highly trained companions sense changes in their handlers and provide critical alerts.

The Path to Placement: Learn exactly what it takes to become a client and how a service dog can become a permanent part of your child’s health management team.

Engagement & Fun: From "signature wags" to interactive education, the day is filled with activities designed to build confidence and community.

Event Details
Date: June 13
Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
