How Secondary Gain Works The Main Problem:

A person wants to stop a habit or heal an issue, such as chronic pain, anxiety, or smoking.

The Inner Conflict: The conscious mind wants the problem gone. The unconscious mind wants to keep the hidden benefit.The

Result: The unconscious mind protects the problem. Traditional willpower often fails because the symptom feels useful or necessary for survival and comfort.

Common Examples Illness: Being sick brings care, love, and a break from stressful daily duties.

Anxiety: Staying home avoids the fear of failing at a new job or social event.

Weight Gain: Extra weight creates a physical boundary that keeps unwanted attention away.

How to Resolve Secondary Gain in Hypnosis.
