Honoring Juneteenth 💙
Today, we honor Juneteenth, one of the oldest commemorations of the end of slavery in the United States. Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865, when freedom was finally enforced for enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, following the Civil War.
As we recognize this important day in our nation's history, we celebrate freedom, resilience, progress, and the many contributions of Black Americans who have helped shape and strengthen communities across generations.
At Moving With HOPE, we are grateful for the diverse individuals, families, staff, and partners who make our community stronger every day. Together, we create opportunities for people of all abilities to build confidence, pursue their goals, and live active, fulfilling lives.
Today, we reflect on the power of community, opportunity, and hope while celebrating the progress that continues to move us forward together.
Wishing everyone a meaningful Juneteenth. 💙
