In a world of right wrong, I will poke your eye out for not agreeing with me I offer the Dasha Sloki of Adi Shankacharya. When he met his guru he was asked : Who are you? He responded with this 10 verse speech if you will. He refused to identify with anything save he was at one with all and he was himself. Here Dr Ananda chants it in its entirety. In a world worried about air pollution, food additives, water pollution we give very little consideration to thought pollution.
We wake up: Oh my God I slept terrible. Or OH My God I can't do today.
Imagine your energy if you woke up and smiled considering the gift you have of life.
The panchakleshas are the despoilers of life ...avidya, asmita, raga, dresha and abhinivesha ...ignorance, ego, attachment, aversion and fear of death. Kriya yoga ameliorates these..especially ignorance.
Another way to alleviate the pollution of the kleshas is gratitude.
Constantly being negative is heavy, a wet blanket to your loved ones. Almost like a fart in a stuck elevator ....but that will dissipate. Your words echo in the ears and minds of those around you.
The attitude of gratitude is the key to a joyful life.
