Is pelvic floor physical therapist all internal work?

One of the biggest misconceptions about pelvic floor physical therapy is that every session involves internal work. The reality is that much of pelvic floor PT is focused on external assessment, movement, strength, breathing, and coordination exercises that address the whole body.

At Whole Health Solutions & Sports Performance, pelvic floor physical therapy is always individualized and consent-based. Internal assessment or treatment is never required, and your comfort always comes first.

Whether you’re dealing with leaking, urgency, pelvic pain, postpartum concerns, or other symptoms, we’re looking at how your pelvic floor works with your core, hips, back, and breathing—not just one area in isolation.

If you’ve been hesitant to seek help because of this misconception, know that you have options and that treatment is tailored to you. 💙

Are you too comfortable to change?

In this clip from Episode 015, Remembering 2020, we talk about why discomfort is often the thing that pushes us to grow.

When life feels comfortable, it is easy to stay the same. But when something feels off, when you feel stuck, or when you know there is more available to you, that discomfort can become the reason you finally take action.

At Whole Health Solutions & Sports Performance, we see this in whole health every day. Whether someone is starting physical therapy, getting back into strength training, working on sports performance training, or making changes through health coaching, growth usually begins when staying the same no longer feels like the best option.

What is one uncomfortable change that ended up being worth it for you? Comment below or share this with someone who is in a season of growth.

What is the pelvic floor?

A lot of people hear the term pelvic floor but aren’t exactly sure what it is or what it does.

Your pelvic floor is a group of muscles that forms the bottom of your pelvis. These muscles don’t work alone, they coordinate with your core, diaphragm, back muscles, and hips to help support your body, manage pressure, and keep everything functioning the way it should.

When this system isn’t working together properly, it can contribute to symptoms like leaking, pelvic pressure, pain, or difficulty with daily activities.

Understanding how your body works is the first step toward feeling better.

Episode 015 is out now 🎙️

In Remembering 2020, we’re talking about the strange mix of that season: the stress, the uncertainty, the disruption, and also the unexpected moments of connection, time, movement, and perspective that came with it.

This clip captures one of those honest reflections. For some people, 2020 created more time with friends, family, outdoor activity, and a slower pace than adult life usually allows. It was complicated, but it also made a lot of people rethink what they actually need for their whole health.

At Whole Health Solutions & Sports Performance, we believe conversations like this matter because health is not just about training harder or doing more. It is about understanding your life, your stress, your relationships, your movement, and your whole body.

Have you ever noticed that stress, emotions, or life circumstances seem to show up in your body?

Pain is not always just about the muscle, joint, or movement pattern. Sometimes the stories we tell ourselves, the stress we carry, our relationships, and our sense of connection can all influence how our body feels. 🧠💪

In this final clip from Episode 014 | Everybody Hurts, we talk about how physical pain and emotional pain can be connected, and why whole body care matters so much.

At Whole Health Solutions & Sports Performance, physical therapy, strength training, performance training, and health coaching are not just about chasing symptoms. They are about understanding the person in front of us, helping them move better, feel stronger, and build a more supported life.

If this clip feels personal, you are not alone.

Leaking when you run isn’t something you have to just live with.

If you’re leaking when you exercise, run errands, chase after your kids, or stay active throughout the day, it may be a sign of pelvic floor dysfunction.

Your pelvic floor doesn’t work alone. It’s designed to coordinate with your core, breathing, hips, and low back. When those systems aren’t working together properly due to injury, pain, weakness, or poor coordination, leakage can occur during everyday activities.

The good news? Pelvic floor physical therapy can help address the root cause and improve how these muscles work together.

At Whole Health Solutions & Sports Performance, our pelvic floor physical therapy team takes a whole body approach to help you move with confidence again.

Have you ever wondered why leakage happens during exercise? Let us know in the comments, or save this post for later. 💙

Have you ever felt like modern life is making your body feel worse?

This conversation gets into a simple but important idea: our bodies were built to move, lift, walk, eat real food, and live in connection with other people. But today, so much of life has become easier, more sedentary, more disconnected, and less physically demanding.

And sometimes, your body feels that.

If you feel stiff, sore, tired, or frustrated that your body does not feel the way it used to, you are not alone. This episode is a reminder that getting back to the basics matters: movement, strength, sleep, nutrition, connection, and a whole body approach.

At Whole Health Solutions & Sports Performance, this is why physical therapy, strength training, sports performance training, and health coaching all connect. Your body is not broken. It may just be asking for a different kind of support.

Listen, and comment one basic habit you want to get back to.

The Pelvic Health Center is coming together!

A few months ago, this was an empty space with a vision. Now, the flooring is in, the mural is complete, our logo is on the wall, and the pieces are finally starting to come together.

Every update brings us one step closer to creating a space designed to help people feel comfortable, supported, and confident throughout their care journey.

We’ve also ordered all of the equipment, and the next phase is putting the room together and preparing to welcome patients.

We can’t wait to show you what’s next.
