In this clip with Natalie Joffe (), we talk about intuitive eating, gentle nutrition, and why the conversation around food in perimenopause may need more nuance.

As stress resilience changes during this phase, things like caffeine and alcohol may impact the body differently. But instead of focusing only on restriction, we talk about adding in more nutritional density, protein, and fiber — without turning food into a moral decision.

Have you ever noticed that your focus, emotional regulation, or motivation changes at certain times of the month?

Or maybe things felt dramatically different after pregnancy, during postpartum, or in perimenopause?

Many people with ADHD describe feeling like their symptoms suddenly “got worse” during hormonal transitions — only to later realize there may have been a biological reason behind it.

You’re not imagining those patterns.

💭Have you ever noticed a connection between your hormones and your ADHD symptoms?

👉Comment below — we’d love to hear your experience.

Most women gain weight during the menopause transition.

Appetites change. Sleep can become disrupted. Body composition shifts. What worked in your 20s and 30s can suddenly start to fall apart in your 40s.

In this clip with Natalie Joffe (), we talk about body image, diet culture, and how to stop battling your body through this phase of life.

ADHD is not static — and hormones are often part of the story.

Many people notice shifts in focus, emotional regulation, motivation, and executive function during puberty, menstrual cycles, pregnancy, postpartum, and perimenopause.

These patterns are increasingly supported by research, yet they’re still frequently dismissed or misunderstood.

Understanding the connection between hormones and ADHD can help people feel more validated, informed, and supported in finding personalized care.

There are many kinds of trauma, and not all of them are reflected in Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) scores. However, when children are exposed to dysfunction within the family — such as divorce, neglect, abuse, or incarceration — they are more likely to develop chronic pain and illness later in life.

This connection is linked to changes in the nervous system, stress response, and inflammation. Even when our circumstances change, the body can continue holding onto hypervigilance, and the brain may begin to interpret pain as a potential threat.

But here’s the good news: this is not destiny. Even if you’ve experienced chronic illness after childhood adversity, your body can learn safety at any age.

ADHD symptoms can change with your hormones — and that’s more common than many people realize.

From puberty to postpartum to perimenopause, hormonal shifts can affect focus, emotional regulation, motivation, and executive function. Many people notice their ADHD symptoms worsen before their period, after pregnancy, or during major life transitions.

This isn’t “being inconsistent.”
There’s a real biological connection between hormones and the brain pathways involved in ADHD.

Understanding those patterns can help people feel less confused, less dismissed, and more supported in getting the right care.

One of the most important parts of ketamine-assisted therapy isn’t just the journey itself — it’s what happens after.

In this clip, Saumya Humpf, LMFT, C-IAYT(), explains how ketamine may open a neuroplastic window that allows the brain to begin forming new neural pathways through small, sustainable changes over time.

Sometimes the biggest shifts start with the smallest insights.

Some symptoms don’t begin where we think they do.

In this new blog, I’m sharing the research connecting childhood adversity, chronic pain, central sensitization, hypermobility, and mast cell activation — along with why I’m openly talking about my own ACE score.

Because trauma is not “just emotional.”
It can shape the nervous system, immune system, and pain response for years after the original danger has passed.

And understanding that changes how we approach healing.

“In perimenopause, how we relate to our bodies often starts to change.”

In this clip, Saumya Humpf, LMFT, C-IAYT (), explores how perimenopause and menopause can shift not only physical symptoms — like sleep disruption, hot flashes, and energy changes — but also identity, emotions, and the mind-body relationship.

We talk about how yoga therapy supports this transition by helping people reconnect with the body in a different way, especially when we’ve been conditioned to stay in our heads. It becomes an invitation to notice how symptoms show up across the whole system — body, breath, mind, and energy.

Sometimes the work is not about fixing the body, but learning how to listen to it.
