Back pain is one of the most common things we see — and a few small changes can make a big difference. 💙

If your back pain has been hanging around longer than it should, that’s your sign to get it looked at properly.

Ever heard of Visceral Manipulation?

It’s one of Hillary’s favorite tools — and one of the most misunderstood. VM is a gentle, hands-on technique that works with your internal organs and surrounding tissue to restore natural movement and communication within the body.

When your organs aren’t moving the way they should, it can show up as back pain, digestive issues, breathing problems, nerve pain, and more. Everything is connected.

If you’ve tried the usual approaches and still aren’t getting answers, this might be why.

Most PT clinics are built for stiff bodies. Stretch more, lift heavier, push through. But for a hypermobile body, that approach can cause real harm.

Here’s what’s actually happening:

🔹 Your brain has muted proprioception — it struggles to track where your joints are in space, making standard exercises dangerous
🔹 Your muscles are already working overtime to hold your joints together — stretching them removes that protection
🔹 Your nervous system is hypersensitive — pushing too hard triggers flares that can last for days

The answer isn’t more stretching. It’s mid-range stability, low-load movement, and a provider who actually understands EDS.

At Centered Path PT, Hillary gets it. Drop a 🦓 in the comments if you’ve ever been hurt by a standard PT routine.

This review from Jennifer says it all. 🌟

“She doesn’t just treat what hurts — she takes the time to figure out why it hurts in the first place.”

That’s exactly the approach at Centered Path PT. Every session is one-on-one, fully hands-on, and focused on the whole picture — not just the painful spot you came in with.

If you’ve been bouncing around from provider to provider without real answers, we’d love to be the last stop on that journey.

Here’s why: your muscles are working overtime to hold your joints in place. When someone forces them to release, your nervous system panics.

That’s where Craniosacral Therapy comes in.

CST uses less than 5 grams of pressure — about the weight of a nickel. It doesn’t force anything. It gently communicates with your nervous system and tells it: you’re safe, you can let go. When that happens, the chronic tension your body has been holding starts to release on its own.

For hypermobile bodies, gentleness isn’t weakness — it’s exactly what works.

At Centered Path PT, Hillary uses CST as part of a whole-body approach to treating EDS, chronic pain, and nervous system dysregulation.

Common signs include:
🔹 Dizziness or lightheadedness when standing
🔹 Rapid or irregular heart rate
🔹 Fatigue and exercise intolerance
🔹 Brain fog
🔹 GI discomfort
🔹 Temperature sensitivity
🔹 Chronic pain or muscle tension

And because symptoms fluctuate day to day, it can feel incredibly isolating — especially when tests come back “normal.”

At Centered Path PT, we take a whole-person approach to Dysautonomia. The nervous system, musculoskeletal system, and emotional wellbeing are all connected — and we treat them that way. Manual therapy, including vagus nerve regulation techniques, is one of the tools we use to help patients feel more regulated and more themselves.

At Centered Path PT, we believe you deserve more than a diagnosis and a generic exercise sheet.

Hi, I’m Hillary! 👋

I’m a physical therapist and the owner of Centered Path PT here in Fort Collins — and I am so excited to be part of this community.

I’ve been a PT since 2014, and my approach is a little different. I look at the whole picture — not just where it hurts, but how you’re sleeping, how you’re moving through life, what’s going on with stress and nutrition. Everything is connected, and that’s how I treat it.

My specialties include dry needling, craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, pelvic health, and care for conditions like EDS and chronic pain. If you’ve been told “everything looks normal” but you’re still struggling — that’s exactly who I’m here for.

I recently moved here from Wisconsin with my husband, our two kids (number three on the way! 🎉), and our two dogs. We are still finding our favorite trails and coffee shops, so send your recommendations my way.

I can’t wait to meet you. 💙

We LOVE hearing feedback from our patients, especially when they are noticing the progress that they are making following our their treatment sessions. If you have been in our clinic and experienced the benefits of our hands-on techniques, don’t hesitate to leave a review and tell your friends and family about us! The best compliment we can receive is a word-of-mouth referral from a current or former patient. Our goal is for everyone in the area to realize how good they can feel after a session at Cream City PT & Wellness. Have a great weekend!
