From scrubbing into procedures to scanning cardiac structures, these senior Cardiovascular Technology students are getting hands-on experience from every angle. 🩺🫀

This semester, our seniors are splitting their time between:
🔹 Cardiac Cath Lab Clinicals
🔹 Cardiac Ultrasound Fundamentals

Last week, cardiac ultrasound fundamentals included a focus on sonographer ergonomics and musculoskeletal injury prevention which will help students build safe scanning habits and promote long-term career longevity in echocardiography. 💙📡

We are excited to watch them continue developing the knowledge and technical skills needed to succeed in the field of cardiovascular care.

One week down and our incoming Cardiovascular Technology students are already off to a great start! 🫀🎓

Over the past week, this new group of future cardiovascular professionals has officially begun their journey into the world of cardiac care, learning the foundations that will prepare them for careers in echocardiography, invasive cardiovascular technology, and beyond.

Last Friday we held a celebratory luncheon, which marked an historic moment for our Cardiovascular Technology Program as we honored our very first graduate, Rachel Banister.

Being the first means more than crossing the finish line. It means setting the standard, opening doors, and helping build the foundation for every student who will follow. Through hard work, resilience, and countless hours in the classroom and clinical setting, this graduate has left a lasting impact on our program and clinical partners alike.

Interested in a career in cardiac care? Our program is designed to help students work toward two specialized credentials:

🫀 RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) – performing echocardiograms to visualize the heart in real time
🫀 RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) – assisting with procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab

Whether you’re starting out, in college, or considering a career change, these pathways lead to hands-on roles in a fast-growing healthcare field.
