For the athletes and gym junkies I treat, this is one of my favorite things to look at when assessing them. Their ability to be dynamic one leg. Give it a try! Majority fail :/

‼️Upper Body Warm-Up‼️
-
Nice little time lapse upper body warm-up you could put in your routine for any upper body lift. There’s a lot of thoracic/rib-cage mobility in this warm-up which are both essential for all upper body lifts.

🦒Neck Pain🦒

If you’re relatively young and you have neck pain for no certain reason, your posture prolly sucks. True in most cases. Moral of the story, get off your ass, stretch your chest, do some back exercises, and strengthen your neck.
🦒
Obviously there are clients that these exercises may not be safe for, but this is a series that I give a lot of my clients who are experiencing neck pain.

💪🏼Shoulder Rehab💪🏼
-
The early stages of shoulder rehab after surgery can be pretty boring. Reason being is that there are strict guidelines to follow placing significant limitations on what a patient/client can do. This is done in order to respect the amount of time it takes the tissue involved to heal. In the case of a rotator cuff surgery, depending on the size and severity of the tear, a patient/client may be asked to not actively me their involved extremity for 4, 6, 8, or sometimes even 12-14 weeks.
-
Here is an example of an Active Assistive exercise performed with the Assistance of a Swiss ball and how it can be progressed when trying to prepare a client for Active motion of their shoulder.

🐜 Core Work 🐜
-
With the “Dead Bug” core exercise the client will often compensate by lifting up or arching their lower back because or weakness. This is a nice way to cue them to insure good core activation and avoidance of compensation. If they aren’t able to keep the band from moving, this exercise is likely to advanced for the client.

Shout out to my model for the day 🔥🔥🔥🔥

💪🏼Shoulder Stability💪🏼
-
Here’s some variations I like to use with some of my higher level clients who are trying to get back to sport 🤾🏻‍♂️🤽🏾‍♀️(specifically throwing) after an injury or after having surgery.
-
Here in the side plank position for a right-handed thrower, you get the added benefit of working not only shoulder stability but also stability of the plant leg(down leg). Believe it or not weakness in the plant leg can lead to issues in the throwing shoulder or even elbow.

✅ Core Stability ✅
-
🥇Here’s a nice “rotary stability” exercise I like using with some of my more advanced clientele. This exercise helps to workout the muscles responsible for stabilizing your back during activities that involve twisting and turning of your trunk or really any movement!!

✅ POSTURE CHECK ✅
-
Here are 2 of my favorite/top postural exercises I love to give patients/clients. Choose a weight you can do high repetitions with. ie.. 3-4 sets of 15-30 repetitions. Reason being is that these muscles have the potential to suffer low load long durations of stress on them all day and become stretched out and weak. Typically seen in a profession that involves a lot of sitting.
-
The idea is that postural muscles need high repetitions so they do not fatigue as quickly through the day when being stuck in certain positions(SITTING!!) over prolonged periods.
