At Sidney Health Center, caring for our community extends beyond the workplace. Last Friday, employees and family members participated in the Sidney Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture Community Trash Bash, spending part of their day picking up litter and helping keep our community looking its best.

We are proud to support efforts that enhance the places where we live, work, and raise our families. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the day a success. Together, we're helping build a stronger, healthier community.

It’s the final week of May, and we’ve had a great time celebrating Sidney Health Center’s incredible healthcare workers all month long!

This week’s Treat Tuesday featured delicious and refreshing acai bowls. It was the perfect snack for a warm day, and a big thank you goes out to Sunrise Berry Bowls for helping treat our team! Theme Thursday also brought the fun, with employees showing off their Sidney Health Center pride in their favorite SHC apparel. Our team definitely came ready to represent!

These fun moments are just small ways we show appreciation for the dedicated employees across our organization who bring expertise, compassion, and care to our patients, residents, and families every single day. Thank you for all that you do!

5 small things you can do for your mental health TODAY

Life in eastern Montana is full of long days, hard work, family commitments, and everything in between. But taking care of your mind doesn't have to mean overhauling your whole routine. Small, consistent habits add up.

Try one of these today:
✅ Step outside for 10 minutes, fresh air and movement do wonders!
✅ Put your phone down an hour before bed
✅ Call or text someone you haven't talked to in a while
✅ Say no to one thing that drains you this week
✅ Drink more water and eat a real meal. Your brain needs fuel too!

And if you've been struggling for a while, more than just a rough week, please don't hesitate to reach out to schedule an appointment with a provider. Talking to someone is one of the best things you can do for yourself.

💙 New Blood Pressure Monitoring Technology

Sidney Health Center is now offering a new way to monitor blood pressure that is more comfortable, convenient, and accurate for many patients.

Bert Lepel recently began using the BioBeat 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitor to help patients better understand and manage their blood pressure outside of the clinic setting.

Unlike traditional blood pressure monitors that use an arm cuff throughout the day and night, the BioBeat device uses light-based sensor technology placed on the chest. The monitor takes readings every 15 minutes without squeezing the arm or interrupting sleep.

“This technology allows us to see a more complete picture of a patient’s blood pressure during normal daily activities and while they sleep,” said Lepel. “It can help identify issues that may not appear during a regular office visit.”

The monitor can help identify issues such as white coat syndrome and masked hypertension while providing providers with more detailed information to help diagnose conditions, evaluate treatment plans, and adjust medications when needed.
