CANTERsvaz CANTER promotes the health and independence of individuals with disabilities/special needs using equine assisted activities.

We’re volunteer led, donor sponsored and accredited by PATH International, the standards setter for therapeutic riding centers. CANTER is accredited by PATH International, the national organization that sets the standards for therapeutic riding centers throughout the country. CANTER is one of only four Premier Accredited riding centers in the state of Arizona. This accreditation results from on-s

ite inspections by PATH International in which our programs, instructors, horses, facilities, volunteers, and documentation are reviewed.

When a special person gets to go on a very special field trip to see a special dream come true… it’s definitely worth posting!
We had the privilege of getting to show the progress on the new indoor arena to Susan Fawcett, one of our biggest champions for this project for many, many years. Susan and her husband, Russ, were longtime instructors at CANTER. This new arena is actually being built on the site of our former outdoor arena named in honor of Russ. After so many years longing to see this project come to fruition, we are so glad that her health allowed her to make the journey to come see the progress. The folks at Haven were great in helping us make this special field trip a reality. Special thanks go out to Carolyn and Dean for their help as well.
