In April 2000, Paul Pedersen and Edward Van Horne founded Arizona Ambulance of Douglas Inc. The operation was started to transport patients from the Southeastern Arizona Medical Center (SAMC) to Bisbee, Sierra Vista and Tucson. Currently, Arizona Ambulance operates ten ambulances covering multiple communities of Southern Cochise County. Bariatric transport capabilities and an additional CCT ambula

nce have been added. In July 2007, Arizona Ambulance Transport became the primary 9-1-1 and non-emergency provider for the Fort Huachuca military installation in Sierra Vista. Arizona Ambulance Transport was founded not to be all things to all people; rather we focus on areas the company can excel by providing a high quality long-distance ambulance transport service dedicated to specific hospitals and communities. Please join us in recognizing Kyle Callister for his quick thinking and outstanding defensive driving.

Kyle identified a developing roadway hazard and reacted immediately, helping prevent what could have become a serious collision. His awareness, sound judgment, and calm response helped protect his partner, the ambulance, and others on the roadway.

Kyle’s actions are a strong example of professionalism, situational awareness, and safe vehicle operation. Congratulations, Kyle, on this well deserved recognition!

🇺🇸 Celebrating 250 Years of America! 🇺🇸

Today, Arizona Ambulance Operations came together with our employees and their families to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.

There was plenty of food, games, a bounce house for the kids, and maybe a little too much competition once the co****le and pickleball came out.

Our crews spend long hours serving communities across Southern Arizona, and their families make sacrifices right alongside them. Today was a chance to slow down, enjoy each other’s company, and celebrate the people behind the uniforms.

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make the day special. We are proud of our team, grateful for our families, and honored to celebrate 250 years of the country we call home.

🍩 Happy National Donut Day! 🍩

Today we had the opportunity to treat our crews to donuts as a small thank you for the hard work, dedication, and professionalism they bring every day.

Whether they are transporting patients across the state, responding to emergencies, or helping families during difficult moments, our EMS professionals are always ready to answer the call.

Thank you to all of our crews for everything you do for the communities we serve. We appreciate you today and every day.

Last night was a great reminder of what hard work and dedication look like.

Huge congratulations to Nolan and Alana, along with the rest of the newly minted paramedics from our Tucson operation, on graduating from Pima’s Paramedic Program. Ten months of long nights, clinicals, ride time, studying, sacrifice, and pushing through challenges led to this moment.

This was earned the hard way, and it shows. Proud of all of you and excited to see what you accomplish next. Welcome to the next chapter.

🚑 Happy EMS Week! 🚑

This week we recognize and celebrate the EMTs and paramedics who serve our communities with compassion, professionalism, and dedication every single day.

As a small token of our appreciation, we were proud to provide a meal for our crews and hold daily prize drawings throughout the week. While these gestures are simple, they are meant to show how much we value the hard work, long hours, and sacrifices our teams make to care for patients across our communities.

Thank you to all of our EMTs and paramedics for everything you do. Your commitment to your patients, your partners, and this profession does not go unnoticed. We are proud to have such an outstanding team.

Meet Zona, our Southern Arizona GMR therapy dog.

While she is always happy to greet anyone she meets, Zona’s main job is supporting our crews. EMS can be a demanding job, and sometimes a few quiet minutes with a therapy dog can make a big difference after a long shift or a difficult call.

Zona spends her time visiting stations, riding along with crews, and reminding everyone to take a breath once in a while.

Today she decided the stretcher looked like the best seat in the ambulance. We’re not arguing with her.
