I was honored to be LIVE on **FOX Carolina News** Fox Carolina NewsFox News with our amazing anchor Kari Beal today to discuss a topic that is incredibly close to my heart — **BREAST CANCER AWARENESS and the lifesaving importance of mammograms!** 🎥💕

As a board certified physician, physician coach and a strong advocate for women’s health, I cannot emphasize this enough:
**The best time to detect breast cancer is BEFORE you feel a lump or experience symptoms!**

🌸 **5 THINGS EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW:**

🎀 **1. DON'T WAIT FOR SYMPTOMS!** Mammograms can detect breast cancer long before a lump can be felt.

🎀 **2. KNOW WHEN TO START!** Most women should begin regular mammogram screening at age 40. Women at higher risk may need to start earlier and may benefit from breast MRI.

🎀 **3. KNOW YOUR FAMILY HISTORY!** BRCA1, BRCA2, and other inherited genetic mutations can significantly increase breast cancer risk. Genetic counseling and testing can be lifesaving for women with certain personal or family histories.

🎀 **4. 3D MAMMOGRAMS CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!** Breast tomosynthesis can improve cancer detection and reduce unnecessary callbacks, particularly for some women with dense breasts.

🎀 **5. BE YOUR OWN BEST ADVOCATE!** Know your risk, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and NEVER postpone recommended screening!

💗 **Here's a powerful fact:** When breast cancer is detected while still localized, the **5-year relative survival rate is greater than 99%!**

1 in 8 women get breast cancer.
Over 800 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every day.
115 women die of breast cancer every day.
