When did you lose the ability to get excited about life? When exactly did the joy and spontaneity of your childhood disappear? Replaced by exhaustion and the emotional armor of adulthood?
Every day, life gives us reasons to be grateful. But we have to slow down long enough to actually see them. Step out of autopilot. Look out the window. Be present so the good stuff can actually reach us.
Here’s the thing: kids soak up the magic of life because they’re fully present. And we adults have a lot to learn from them. A lot of us had to grow up fast. Take on things we weren’t ready for. Until we unlearned or never even learned how to just relax.
Somewhere along the way, worrying started feeling like a virtue. Like it’s what “responsible adults” do. But all worry really does is yank us out of the present moment and turn us into an anxious, stressed-out, depleted version of ourself.
The real skill? Being a full-grown adult, handling our responsibilities, and still choosing on purpose to notice the small things. The things only someone who is truly present can see.
And being grateful for them. ✨
