According to research from the Institute of Functional Medicine, "approximately 95% of the symbiotic microbes in the human body are located in the gut.

What makes a massage, Trauma Sensitive?

It primarily boils down to Communication and Consent.

Trauma often makes it challenging for someone to recognize their body's needs (they might not even realize where they are carrying stress) and to voice their needs.

Heather and Kay make sure to create a safe and secure place to be massaged by noting any areas on the intake the client doesn't want addressed and then confirm verbally with them what they are comfortable with prior to the massage.

Our therapists are trained to be observant of body language and often check in during the massage if needed, offering modifications or alternatives.

Heather and Kay are in tune with their clients and encourage good communication between themselves and their clients always asking for consent to massage.
