JAY HITS A MAJOR MILESTONE!

Success is built one step at a time, and here Jay is celebrating a huge achievement—he has officially worked his way down to 350 pounds!

A big part of Jay’s success has been his commitment to our V-Motion Slim Fat Loss & Weight Loss Program, which combines genetic-based nutrition with UltraSlim treatments to help patients achieve their health and weight-loss goals.

Along this journey, Jay also underwent bone marrow aspirate cells (BMAC) and PRP injections in both knees. As his weight continues to decrease and his knees continue to improve, he’s gaining momentum toward a healthier, more active future.

Every pound lost means less stress on the knees, and every milestone reached is another reminder that positive change is possible with commitment, perseverance, and the right plan.

Congratulations, Jay! We are proud of the hard work, dedication, and determination you’ve shown. This is an incredible accomplishment, and we can’t wait to see what milestone you conquer next!

PARTIAL THICKNESS VS FULL THICKNESS ROTATOR CUFF TEARS

Many people assume a partial rotator cuff tear is “not a big deal” because they can still move their shoulder and function day to day. The problem? Partial thickness tears can continue to worsen over time and eventually progress into full thickness tears.

This is why early intervention matters.

Using ultrasound guidance, the exact location of the partial tear can be visualized in real time so that biologic augmentation including bone marrow aspirate cells (BMAC) and PRP can be injected directly into the damaged tendon tissue. These regenerative medicine procedures are designed to support healing and improve the tendon environment before the tear progresses further.

Research by Dr. Philippe Hernigou demonstrated the powerful effects of biologic augmentation in rotator cuff repair procedures. In the study, patients receiving bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) during rotator cuff repair showed:
• 100% healing at 6 months compared to 67% without biologic augmentation
• Approximately 87% intact repairs at 10 years compared to 44% in controls

The key takeaway: don’t ignore shoulder pain and partial tears for too long. Once a tendon fully tears and retracts away from the bone, biologic augmentation alone cannot reattach it. Surgery is the only option at that point.

ANOTHER SHINING BOOK STAR

There’s nothing better than celebrating the incredible people who make this journey possible. Dr. P had the honor of greeting Tom and his wife, Linda, with autographed copies of the book as a special thank you for sharing their patient story.

Their journey is more than just words on a page. It’s a story of hope, perseverance, and inspiring others who may be searching for answers and a better quality of life. Stories like Tom’s are helping people realize that there may be options worth exploring and that hope is never out of reach.

Thank you, Tom and Linda, for being part of the mission and for helping inspire others through your story.

NO VICTORY IS TOO SMALL

For Joe, today’s victory wasn’t crossing a finish line or lifting a personal best in the gym.

It was something much more meaningful.

He walked down the stairs quickly… without even thinking about his knees.

In the past, every step came with hesitation. Every trip down the stairs meant worrying about the pain that might hit next.

Today? He moved naturally, confidently, and pain-free.

That’s what progress looks like.

At Victory In Motion, Home of Knee Repair, NOT Knee Replacement®, we celebrate every milestone because the little victories are often the ones that give people their lives back.

Pain changes how you move.
Regenerative medicine aims to help change that.

ARE YOU STUCK IN THE “CYCLE OF INSANITY”?

It starts with pain… then comes the P*P visit, X-rays, physical therapy, injections, MRIs, more waiting, more appointments, and more frustration. Many months later, many patients are eventually told by the orthopedic surgeon they only have 2 options:

1. Suck it up and live in pain
2. Get a knee replacement

At Victory In Motion, Home of Knee Repair, NOT Knee Replacement®, we’re here to tell you there’s a THIRD option.

Repair. Not replace.

Our goal is to educate people about regenerative medicine and innovative treatment options that may help patients avoid or delay major joint replacement surgery. The current healthcare cycle leaves too many people feeling hopeless, stuck, and unheard.

That’s why Dr. Marc Pietropaoli wrote the book to challenge the status quo and help patients understand there may be another path forward.

HONORING THOSE WHO MADE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

As we spend time with family and friends today, let us also reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of those who served and sacrificed for something greater than themselves.

From all of us at Victory In Motion, Home of Knee Repair, NOT Knee Replacement®, thank you to all who have served and to the families who continue to carry their legacy forward.

WHY MENISCUS ROOT TEARS AND RADIAL TEARS MATTER

Think about the metal hoop wrapped around a wooden barrel.

That hoop creates strength, stability, and helps the barrel handle pressure evenly.

Now imagine cutting that hoop straight across.

Suddenly, the entire structure loses its ability to properly handle force.

That’s very similar to what happens with certain meniscus injuries—especially meniscus root tears and radial tears.

The meniscus acts like a shock absorber and force distributor within the knee. When a root tear or radial tear occurs, the meniscus can lose its ability to properly transfer load across the joint. In many cases, this can dramatically increase stress on the cartilage and accelerate joint degeneration.

Not all meniscus tears are the same.

Some tears may be manageable with conservative care, while others can significantly impact knee mechanics and long-term joint health if left untreated.

Understanding the TYPE of tear matters.

At Victory In Motion, Home of Knee Repair, NOT Knee Replacement®, we focus on detailed evaluations, advanced imaging interpretation, rehabilitation strategies, and regenerative medicine options to help patients better understand their condition and explore potential treatment pathways.

Have knee pain, swelling, instability, or difficulty squatting and twisting? It may be more than “just arthritis.”

CHIP’S 8-WEEK UPDATE

Chip is now 8 weeks out from his procedure using bone marrow aspirate cells (BMAC)—which contains stem cells along with many of the other important cells that support and assist the stem cells—as well as PRP treatment to both knees.

Before treatment, even performing a simple long arc quad exercise caused excruciating pain.

Today, he’s performing the same exercise completely pain free…with 5-pound ankle weights.

Progress like this matters because it represents more than just reduced pain. It means improved strength, improved function, and getting back to activities that once felt impossible.

At Victory In Motion, Home of Knee Repair, NOT Knee Replacement®, our focus is helping patients restore function and stay active whenever possible through regenerative medicine and comprehensive rehabilitation.

OPERATING ROOM EDITION: TREATING THE TIBIAL CYSTIC LESION

In this video, you’ll see actual operating room footage from the procedure discussed in previous posts.

The procedure begins with harvesting the bone dowels and bone marrow aspirate from the posterior superior iliac spine, along with a blood draw to prepare PRP (platelet-rich plasma). As a side note, this patient was also dealing with a shoulder condition, so you’ll briefly see treatment of the humeral head as part of the same procedure.

You’ll also see the structural bone dowels that were harvested and prepared for implantation. Once the tibial cystic lesion is accessed, the bone dowels are carefully inserted into the defect to help provide structural support to the compromised area of bone.

In this particular case, we also utilized a graft extender — a hyper cross-linked polysaccharide material designed to allow exceptional absorption and retention of the biologic cells harvested from the bone marrow aspirate. The graft extenders, along with the bone dowels, are inserted directly into the tibial cystic defect as seen in the video.

The goal is not simply to inject “fluid,” but to combine regenerative medicine with biologic structure in an effort to help support healing in an area where the bone has broken down.

Stay tuned for additional posts as we continue to walk through this case step-by-step.
