Update❗️Ayden is out of surgery and in recovery, we should be heading home in the next hour.

Someone is EXCITED to get their port removed!!! I will update once surgery is complete.

We have some amazing news, Aydens scan was clear, that means he is DONE!!! His port should come out in the next few weeks. He has to be seen by his oncologist every two months and scans every 6 months for the next year. But our boy did it he and should be ringing the bell soon. 🔔 😁 A huge thank you to everyone who has supported Ayden this year and helped our family though this very difficult time. We would not have been able to make it this year without our friends, family, and community. Your support means more to us than you will ever know. 💜 I will post updates on port removal and live stream when he RINGS THAT BELL! 😭💜🔔

🌟 Update- Ayden hit is port and it was causing him pain, they said everything is in the correct position and he probably bruised it, otherwise everything is fine!

Just an update on Ayden, we had to come and get a XR CHEST (xray) bc he is having pain in his port, we are waiting for the results and what will happen next. I will update once we know.

We got some AMAZING news!!!
Ayden has been fighting for his life the last 8 1/2 months and OUR BOY DID IT, we can finally see the end and we are SO close! Once his labs are complete and things are still clear port removal will be scheduled! 🙌🏻

* Cancer is such a vicious, nasty disease that it not only attacks your body and health but mentally it can break you and your loved ones in so many ways you didn’t know possible. Looking at your child and seeing pure fear in their eyes and not being able to make it better is a parent’s worse nightmare. It’s so important for people to have a good support system and we appreciate everybody who stayed for the long haul and stood beside Ayden and our family during this difficult time.

It’s CT scan time!!! It’s time to find out if the remaining tumor in his lung is completely gone or almost gone and NOT growing!! Let’s get some prayers going that it’s COMPLETELY GONE!! We will know the results in the next day or so. It’s been a stressful and emotionally exhausting 9 months but we can see the finish line for Ayden and pray it’s coming soon. 💜

* Ayden has his next scan on the 10th @ 9AM.
As of right now we don’t have too many updates as it’s more of a waiting game at this point. He has been recovering well from his surgery, aside for the fact that the other day he slipped and fell, and now he’s having some pains in his stomach. Drs are keeping an eye on it. We appreciate everyone’s continued prayers and support.

As you may have heard The Maple Room is closing its doors Sunday, but the day before we will have a big benefit show featuring 5 great bands: Neznum, No End In Sight, Train Wreck Method, THEM GUYS, and Silver Dose will be performing to help raise money for Aydens journey to beat cancer .

This is an ALL AGES show! Doors @ 8 p.m., show @ 9 p.m.

Unlike our Friday shows, there will be a $10 donation for admission to help Ayden Ruiz and his family with his medical expenses.

This show is brought to you by Little Shelby (Leukemia warrior), the Gulf Coast Metal Alliance, Corbin Andera Productions, and MUSIC at MAPLE.

So come out for a great cause, bring the kids, and get some of that great Maple Room food and beers one final time. We are glad we get to have this final show!

Ayden is headed home! He is coming home with a JP drain( it’s for the lymphatic fluid drainage, so it doesn’t build up in him) we have to monitor and record the output, Dr. Martin said it will probably be there for a few weeks, it just depends. He has a follow up appointment on July 18th. His incision is bigger than we expected, but Dr. Martin did a wonderful job so scarring should be minimal. Ayden is doing fine, pain is manageable and he is ready to get home and rest. Recovery is about 4 to 6 weeks.
