The Kids’ Therapy Room is just the beginning of the vision we’re bringing to life at Bright Mind Behavioral Health Center—and we still need your help.

We are currently looking for sponsors to help complete our Teen Therapy Room, creating a safe, welcoming space where older children and teens can heal, grow, and feel supported. We are also seeking a sponsor to help bring our hallways to life with bright, uplifting murals that will make every child who walks through our doors feel welcomed from the moment they arrive.

Every sponsorship is an investment in the mental health and future of the children and families we will be serving.

🦋Beyond Blessed 💙

I am honored and so blessed to introduce the Kids’ Therapy Room at Bright Mind Behavioral Health Center, lovingly dedicated in memory of sweet Lilian Blackman. This room was created for our youngest children, ages 8 and under, and will forever serve as a place of hope, healing, comfort, and joy.

I first learned about Lilian in late 2021 after seeing a post her mother shared during Lilian’s courageous battle with DIPG. Even though we had never met, I knew in my heart that I wanted to help. Through the first nonprofit I founded at just 14 years old, Making Spirits Bright, I had the privilege of supporting the Blackman family during one of the most difficult seasons of their lives.

From that moment on, they became a family who forever inspired me 💙

When God placed the vision of Bright Mind Behavioral Health Center on my heart, the Blackman family stepped right in to help Bright Mind.

Lilian’s life, though far too short, left an everlasting impact on so many. She showed the world what courage, faith, and unconditional love truly look like. From her love of butterflies , to the frozen ( from Disney ) , to dance , to the beach . She simply was the light in every room she entered. 💙🦋

Today, her legacy continues to live on.

Every child who walks into this butterfly room will be reminded that they are loved, valued, and never alone. My prayer is that this space brings comfort to children facing difficult moments, encourages healing, fills hearts with laughter, and reminds families that there is always hope.

To the entire Blackman family—THANK YOU 💙

Thank you for allowing Bright Mind to honor your precious Lilian in such a meaningful way. Thank you for trusting me with her memory. Thank you for continuing to pour love into our mission and into the lives of so many children and families.

This room is becoming something so special because of the incredible kindness of our community. Every book, toy, game, and piece of comfort has been donated by people who believe every child deserves a safe place to heal, grow, and just be a kid.

💙 THANK YOU, JOHNSTON COUNTY 💙

My heart is so full after Saturday’s inaugural Bright Mind 5K & 1-Mile Run/Walk.

What started as a dream to bring awareness to children’s mental health became a reality because of each and every one of you. To our almost 30 participants, 4 incredible vendors, generous sponsors, volunteers, family members, friends, and community supporters—thank you for believing in our mission and showing up to make a difference.

Seeing people come together on a Saturday morning to support children and families in our community was a reminder that hope is alive and that we are stronger when we work together. Every step taken, every donation given, every encouraging word shared, and every act of support helps bring Bright Mind one step closer to opening our doors and serving the children who need us most.

This race was more than a fundraiser. It was the beginning of something bigger. It was proof that our community cares deeply about the mental health and well-being of our youth.
