What do visits include, and how do I book? 🌊
Since sharing the clinic reveal, I’ve received lots of questions about appointments. I realized I hadn’t explained the process clearly, especially for families who are still expecting - so lets talk about it.
What happens at a visit?
Visits with your nurse practitioner include a thorough physical exam, vital signs, a review of weight and growth, feeding assessment and support, jaundice monitoring and evaluation, and plenty of time for your questions and newborn care education. Subsequent follow-up appointments are tailored to your baby’s needs.
Booking an office visit using insurance?
Once your baby is born, the hospital provider will tell you when the first visit should happen based on your baby’s weight, jaundice, and hospital course. Call Beachside after you receive that recommendation so we can schedule the appointment within the advised timeframe. No waitlist required.
After booking, I’ll send you a link to the patient portal to upload your insurance information and complete the forms before your visit. Visits commonly continue around 1, 2, 4, and 8 weeks of age, with additional appointments as needed.
Booking a private-pay home visit?
If you’re interested in home visits, reach out during pregnancy to ask about availability and reserve a spot. These spots are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. I’ll reserve your baby’s place, then schedule the first visit around their arrival and discharge needs once I receive contact from you.
I can’t wait to meet your little one and support your family through those first weeks. 🩵 Please feel free to reach out so I can help you make the best decision for your family 🤗
