ZOBO DRINK (THE RIGHT WAY)

What you need:
Dried hibiscus petals (zobo leaves).
Fresh ginger.
Cloves.
Lime or lemon.
Cucumber slices.
Clean water.

Steps:

1. Wash the zobo leaves thoroughly to remove sand and dust.

2. Boil water and add the zobo leaves, ginger, and cloves.

3. Let it simmer for 20 to 30 minutes until the water turns deep red.

4. Turn off the heat and add lime juice and cucumber slices as it cools.

5. Strain into a clean jug.

6. Refrigerate and drink cold.

Important:

Do not add sugar.
Do not add pineapple, mango, or any sugary fruit.

The ginger and lime provide all the flavour it needs.

Zobo without sugar can support blood pressure, aid digestion, and provide vitamin C.

The moment you add sugar or sugary fruit, you turn a medicinal drink into a soft drink.

Mama arrived, examined the baby and said “This baby has oka ori.”

She went to the market, bought some herbs, prepared agbo, applied some to the baby’s head and gave the baby some to drink.

By 6 weeks, the baby went to the hospital for immunization. The baby’s weight was shockingly low for age, blood level was low, and tests showed signs of infection.

The baby obviously wasn’t feeding well because the tiny stomach was already being filled with agbo. 😭

But here’s the important part:

Oka ori is the anterior fontanelle, the soft spot on a baby’s head. It is NORMAL.

It is present in babies and gradually closes on its own, usually between 9–18 months.

Please, don’t apply herbs or give concoctions to babies because of “oka ori.” That soft spot is not an illness. And babies under 6 months need breast milk, not agbo.💝

My husband called me now and said he found a basket of onions for ₦2,500. I asked him to snap it and send me a picture first. After seeing it, I told him to price it at ₦2,000.

The seller refused, so I told my husband to leave it and not buy it. 😅

Now my husband is saying I don’t have a conscience because, according to him, the onions are worth ₦2,500 and I shouldn’t have asked him to bargain.
