🥹 This is a hard post for me to share.
Admitting that something isn’t right can be one of the hardest things to do, especially when you’ve spent your life thinking that the way you feel is just… normal.
Looking back, I don’t think I can remember a time when I consistently woke up feeling refreshed. I’ve always needed naps. I’ve always felt tired. And for a long time, I just accepted it as part of who I was.
But now that I know what I know, I can see the signs.
The facial patterns.
The breathing patterns.
The tension.
The sleep struggles.
The way my body has been working so hard just to function.
And then it hit me…
I am the patient I’m always looking for. 😅🫠Recently, I’ve had to get really honest with myself:
I can’t spend my life advocating for everyone else’s health while ignoring my own.
So I’m becoming the patient.
My current treatment journey includes:
1️⃣ Chiropractic care
2️⃣ Gut testing + hormone support
3️⃣ An oral orthotic
4️⃣ Myofunctional therapy + tongue-tie release
5️⃣ Orthodontics + expansion
6️⃣ Continued Myofunctional therapy
It’s going to be a journey. And honestly, it’s a little scary to share it publicly.
But I also know how powerful it can be to see someone else take the first step.
I’m not sharing this because I have all the answers. I’m sharing it because I’m learning too.
And maybe you’ve been waking up exhausted for years.
Maybe your child is snoring, mouth breathing, or struggling to sleep.
Maybe you’ve been told that everything is “fine,” but you know something doesn’t feel right.
You are allowed to ask questions. You are allowed to advocate for yourself. And you are allowed to seek answers. 🤍
This is me choosing to do exactly that.
I’m hopeful that this journey will change my life and even more hopeful that sharing it might help someone else recognize the signs sooner.
If you’ve been wondering whether your breathing, sleep, or oral function could be affecting your health, let’s talk. 🫶
You don’t have to figure it all out alone.
