Happy hump day! Here’s a fun one to get you through the rest of the week!
👩🏻‍⚕️Pt was diagnosed with necrotic asymptomatic apical periodontitis. RCT was completed on Monday. Cavit placed as temporary until he could return to us for crown restoration. On Wednesday he broke the buccal cusps and Endo deemed it unrestorable and sent him back to me.

I always try to do minimally invasive extraction techniques - here I was able to section and minimally trough around the roots and with periosteal pressure all around, the 3 were extracted without flapping or excessive bone removal!

🤓Also interesting to see was the infected periapical tissue that came out with the tip of the curved mesial-buccal root!

Happy Saturday everyone!
Here is a quick post of a beautiful prep. I’m a dental nerd that gets goosebumps when I see things like this. 🤪

👩🏻‍⚕️This patient had a large amalgam filling placed over 5 years ago and the tooth had never felt the same. Pain to biting occasionally, there was no evident decay or apical infection to be causing his discomfort. After referring him to our trusted Endodontist , they found an internal fracture. After RCT, they were able to clean out the fracture (which did not extend into the root) and the patient returned to me for a final crown.

Sometimes things are difficult to see - that I why I love a close relationship with skilled Endodontists to help with our patient diagnoses and treatment plans. In this case, the patients’ large amalgam filling probably weakened the tooth, causing it to fracture from the inside. Glad we could find it and help him out!

So it’s been a while since I’ve posted but my favourite holiday is Halloween so I just had to make an appearance! Life has been pretty crazy after the wedding (we still have thank you cards to write! ), football season takes up 3/7 days a week ( ), I’m now working in both Snoqualmie Ridge and Bellevue (with the hopes of purchasing my own office soon 🤞🏼), so please stay tuned! When things start to all come together, I’ll be sure to be more active and bring you all the exciting things I’ve been working on!

👩🏻‍⚕️With Halloween just around the corner, make sure to get your children’s chompers checked out by family or pediatric dentist! I’ve always found the best way to get them to open wide is to tickle tickle tickle!!!

So it’s been a while since I’ve posted because life has been pretty hectic. I got married to the prince of my dreams, honeymooned in Kauai, the Garden Island, and got a new job working in the Snoqualmie Ridge neighbourhood. But here is a sneak peek at everything that has been going on —> More to come, I promise! Disney, dentistry, and debauchery! @ Snoqualmie Falls Dental

👩🏻‍⚕️Minor details can boost confidence more than you can imagine! •

Top: This 22 year old girl came in with no decay, but the low gingival margin and small black triangle between #8 and #9 had always prevented her from smiling with everything she had to offer.

Middle: Probing depths showed she had equal bone levels on both central incisors but the gingival tissue was thicker and longer on #8 so I performed very minor gingivectomy with the electrosurg machine - cutting and cauterizing at the same time for minimal trauma and post operative bleeding.

Bottom: 4 months later, the gingival margin of #8 has healed and remained at even levels. Now all we had to do was minor bonding to close the small - but noticeable and food trapping - black triangle.

Now she is ecstatic and would never thinking twice to smile as wide as she can to show off her beautiful teeth!

Happy National Dentist’s Day!
👩🏻‍⚕️It’s been a while since I’ve posted but I wanted to make sure I really wanted to share my next case - and what better case to show than a transformation of a smile to a deserving mother who has dedicated her life to her children.

This 77-y.o mother was brought in by her daughter to every appointment - she travelled all the way from Norther California to Washington! Her previous dentures were broken in several places, metal was wearing away her lower anteriors, retention was so poor she couldn’t talk without dislodging them, and let’s not even talk about the esthetics of the front teeth.

We worked with her and over 5 appointments, we were able to restore her smile to something that she is now proud to smile about!

-> Mandibular partial was kept as is due to difficult occlusion but the worn down acrylic teeth were changed out for better esthetics and bite.
-> Composite fillings were used to cover the dentin exposed Invisalign edges of lower anterior teeth
-> At the patient’s request, we chose a bright shade and with increased VDO and better lip support, she now loves her smile!

Happy National Popcorn day!
I love popcorn but I also know those pesky kernels can get stuck in your gums so be careful!
