It's a rainy Monday morning here on our botanical sanctuary, and the plants are thrilled. There is vibrant green everywhere you turn, pulsing with the vitality of new growth that comes before the summer solstice. I adore this transitional time between Spring & Summer.
The forest ephemerals have faded in exchange for a virulent green canopy. Daffidols, Tulips, Dandelions, Violets are in their final show as the Alliums are beginning to burst open and Peony buds are forming. It's easy to create salads and side dishes from the land again as edible greens are everywhere.
Solomon Seal has beautiful bell flowers down low being filled with buzzing bees, and lilacs are scenting the air. Hummingbirds dart around manically, as do I - chasing the never-ending tasks on my to-do list.
Instead of stressing about all the things I need to do this season, I'm flowing into acceptance of what I can and cannot achieve. And does it really matter that there's grass popping up in the flower beds? No... New life requires my full attention and devotion, along with the many other loves and beings I'm devoted to.
All that being said - we have been quite busy in the Apothecary over the past month, and will be having a big shop update on 6/1! And yes, I promise the NORTH WOODS OIL will finally be restocked.
