Standing tells a story that lying down simply can’t. 👏

We LOVE investigating pelvic floor concerns in functional, loaded positions because your symptoms don’t usually happen while you’re lying on a treatment table.

During a standing internal assessment, we may evaluate your pelvic floor while you’re:
✨ Coughing
✨ Squatting
✨ Lunging
✨ Overhead pressing
✨ Lifting
✨ Breathing under load
✨ And performing other real-life movements that actually reproduce your symptoms.

This is where we often uncover the “aha!” moments.

We’ve identified sneaky contributors like:
🔎 Re**al gripping that creates pelvic pressure or obstructed bowel movements
🔎 Pelvic organ prolapse that becomes much more apparent with gravity
🔎 Pelvic floor muscles that don’t automatically contract when pressure demands increase
🔎 Muscles that stay “on” when they should relax—or fail to activate when they should support
🔎 Compensation patterns throughout the hips, core, diaphragm, and spine that aren’t obvious at rest

These findings help us stop guessing and start treating the true driver of your symptoms.

At Pelvic Connections, we believe your evaluation should reflect how you actually live. The more complete the picture, the more individualized your treatment plan and the better your long term outcomes.

Whether you’re experiencing prolapse, leaking, pelvic pain, constipation, pressure, s*xual dysfunction, or performance concerns, people of all genders can benefit from a comprehensive functional pelvic floor assessment.

Because finding the root cause is what we do. 💚

Pelvic Connections is seeking a PELVIC FLOOR PHYSICAL THERAPIST for our LINDENHURST, NY location who aligns with our mission and ethos.

Pelvic Connections is a Pelvic Health Therapy practice with locations in Lindenhurst, NY & Somers, CT.

We believe in providing a holistic, customized approach to physical therapy and occupational therapy care. We help individuals with pelvic pain, urinary and bowel issues, s*xual dysfunction, and pregnancy-related concerns find lasting relief and while empowering life-long health and wellness.

We are looking for an energetic, compassionate, and experienced pelvic health physical therapy provider that is looking to use the full breadth of their clinical skill set and implement wellness-based care at our New York location. Our clinic offers hour-long, 1:1 treatment sessions, with a creative mix of manual therapy, exercise and functional movement training, pain science education, and lifestyle education. At Pelvic Connections, we believing in expanding beyond the typical reactionary health care world into the preventative health and wellness realm. This position does include on-site paid mentorship, continuing education reimbursement, and a supportive environment for you to thrive and treat patients with your full skillset. We are in the planning stage of re-vamping our welcome folder. For those of you in late phase 2 or phase 3 of your care, where your symptoms are resolved/well managed, what do you wish someone could have told you when you were first experiencing symptoms?

Many folks with pelvic floor symptoms fall into the Reddit and FB groups “trap”. Really, it’s a place people want to go to for support, because there’s not enough out here. However, there is a negativity bias and misinformation in many of these groups.

We want to encourage our new patients to get off of these sites as much as possible and on to resources that are evidence based and hope generating.

Thanks to everyone who leaves a Google or FB review of their experiences to spark hope, as 80% of our clients find us from googling their own symptoms rather than provider referral.

So, let us know- what do you wish someone could have told you?

It’s here!!!!!! 🤍

After months of dreaming, designing, rewriting, photographing, refining, and asking ourselves, “Does this truly feel like us?” our new website is officially live.

A place where they can understand that symptoms are connected, their story matters, and they deserve more than a quick fix.

Whether you’re navigating pelvic pain, bladder concerns, bowel dysfunction, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, s*xual health concerns, orthopedic injuries, or simply trying to understand your body better, we’re here for you through a lifetime.

Thank you to every client, provider, friend, family member, and team member who has supported Pelvic Connections along the way. This next chapter is because of you.

Also, thank you so much to Rayne Design Studios for interpreting my vision for my business mission and relaying it into this beautiful website. I cannot recommend her enough!

✨ Take a look around and let us know what you think.

This weekend, our pelvic floor clinician, Karlyn, spent her time advancing her skills through intensive training with the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy, focusing on dry needling!

What we love most is that every lecture, lab, and hands-on practice session was approached with one question in mind:

“How can this help our patients?”

At Pelvic Connections, continuing education isn’t about collecting certifications—it’s about expanding the tools we have to help our clients reach their goals more efficiently and effectively.

Dry needling can be a powerful adjunct to pelvic floor therapy, helping address muscle tension, trigger points, pain, movement restrictions, and the orthopedic contributors that often impact pelvic floor function. By improving the way the body moves and functions as a whole, we can continue to uncover and treat the true drivers behind symptoms—not just chase them.

We’re excited to bring even more options, more clinical reasoning, and more individualized care to the people who trust us with their health.

Please note: At this time, dry needling is only available at our Connecticut location. Due to current New York state laws and regulations, physical and occupational therapists are not permitted to perform dry needling in New York.

We did bring back tangible skills to utilize in both locations though! Including acupressure!

Because every course we take, every skill we learn, and every hour we invest is ultimately for you. 💚
