Had a little visitor this morning. ✨
A dragonfly.
And maybe the message wasn’t simply about transformation.
Maybe it was about seeing the whole field.
Not just what someone said.
Not just what happened.
Not just your emotional reaction.
Look at the pattern.
Dragonfly medicine carries a beautiful invitation into discernment. To see what is actually there instead of only what we hoped would be there, feared might be there, or were conditioned to see.
Clarity. Transformation. Emotional emergence. Perspective.
Maybe dragonfly asks us:
What am I being asked to see differently?
What have I already outgrown but haven’t released?
What has been developing beneath the surface?
Where am I being invited to become lighter instead of pushing harder?
What truth becomes obvious when I stop looking at only one side?
And perhaps my favorite part of dragonfly medicine comes from its actual life cycle.
Dragonflies begin their lives beneath the water. They spend much of their existence there before eventually climbing out, shedding their old form, opening their wings and taking to the air.
And once they emerge into their winged form, they don’t return to living underwater.
There’s something powerful in that.
There are seasons for going deep.
For sitting with the emotions.
For examining the past.
For understanding our wounds, patterns and conditioning.
For doing the work beneath the surface.
But there can also come a point when continually returning to the depths isn’t where the healing is anymore.
You’ve learned there.
You’ve grown there.
You’ve transformed there.
Maybe you don’t need to keep diving back down looking for another thing to heal.
Maybe it’s time to trust the wings you’ve grown.
Sometimes the next medicine is emergence. 🪷✨
