Not a mom of boys.... but a therapist take...

Its so important that we start helping boys identify, express safely, and receive support for their full range of emotions. Emotional intelligence and growth are stunted by suppression of emotions, which impacts all the domains of someone's life.

Patriarchy often socializes boys to funnel their emotions like disappointment, shame, anxiety, insecurity, and sadness etc into the only socially acceptable emotion for men... anger/ rage.

This rage is then displaced and enacted outwardly through emotional and physical violence on others ... mostly women and children....

A man's mental and emotional challenges can be real, but do not excuse abusive behavior. Its time that society stop sacrificing woman and children because we dont value their lives equally and because we wont hold men accountable for managing the intensity of their feelings.
