Tips for Traveling Safely this Summer with Your Ponto!
When travelling with a bone anchored hearing system like the Ponto, there are a few things to consider:
🔸Bring the Ponto Implant Card with you and inform airport security that you have an implanted device prior to passing through security. The TSA agent will also advise on whether you may keep the sound processor on, or not. If needed, you can download a spare implant card from our website.
🔸When travelling by plane, turn on the flight mode on the sound processor to disable Bluetooth(R) during take-off and landings.
🔸If you would like to watch movies or listen to music, be sure to have extra batteries and accessories readily available.

Start your journey to better hearing!
Unlock the world of sound with Oticon Medical's advanced hearing solutions. Gaining a clear understanding of the stages involved in the Bone Anchored Hearing System (BAHS) journey can give you the confidence to make a well-informed decision when choosing to proceed with BAHS. Learn about the process:
🔸Evaluation: Your healthcare provider will assess if a bone anchored hearing solution (BAHS) is a suitable option for you
🔸Try it out: You will test a BAHS on a softband or headband and listen to the different sound environments in your daily life.
🔸Decide on treatment: Discuss and decide with your healthcare provider what the best solution is for you.
🔸Surgical procedure: The surgical procedure usually takes less than an hour. Depending on the implant type chosen, the procedure can take less than 15 minutes under local anaesthesia.
🔸Healing: Following the surgical procedure, you can resume your normal activities. 7-10 days after, the dressing will be removed from the implant site.
🔸Fitting of sound processor: Once fully healed, the sound processor is fitted by your audiologist and you can start to use it.

Get ready for Good Vibrations Day on 3 May!
It’s the perfect moment to celebrate how bone conduction turns sound into gentle vibrations that travel straight to the cochlea — bypassing the outer and middle ear.
This clever technology supports people with conductive, mixed, or single sided hearing loss, bringing those good vibrations to life.

Stay tuned for more Good Vibrations Day highlights!

Sharing in support of, and with permission from, Ear Community:

Tuesday, March 3 is World Hearing Day! In an effort to bring attention to Ally's Act, H.R. 4606 & S. 3400 on this hearing health awareness day, we are asking everyone to please call Congressional and Senate offices in Washington, DC asking them to co-sponsor Ally's Act! This is very easy and just takes two minutes to call. We have specific offices that we are asking everyone to focus on for March 3 and/or during all next week.

Please remember:
- When calling offices for Congress, use the following bill # for Ally's Act: H.R. 4606.
- When calling offices for Senators, use the following bill # for Ally's Act: S. 3400

Here is the suggested Ally's Act call script to use when contacting Congressional representatives: "My name is X and I am calling today to ask Congress Representative X to please co-sponsor a bill that matters to me in honor of World Hearing Day. The bill is called Ally's Act, H.R. 4606."

Suggested Ally's Act call script for Senators: "My name is X and I am calling today to ask Senator X to please co-sponsor a bill that matters to me in honor of World Hearing Day. The bill is called Ally's Act, S. 3400."

NOTE: The person on the phone may ask you for your name and zip code. Give them your name and tell them you represent the Ear Community Organization (the nonprofit championing this Federal legislation) or an organization you work for.

The following are links to the current rosters of Congressional representatives on the Energy & Commerce (who should be contacted first), Ways & Means, and Education & Workforce Committees:
