Y'all!! I am SO excited to share this!! πŸ¦•πŸŒΌ

I will be at DINO DAYS this weekend in Glen Rose, October 10 and 11, and I would LOVE to see you there!

I will be set up selling DIGNITY APRONS for our precious seniors. And friends, these are NOT your typical bibs. They are beautifully designed adaptive clothing items that protect clothing during meals while keeping your loved one looking and feeling like THEMSELVES. Because dignity never goes out of style, no matter what stage of life we are in. πŸ’›

If you have a parent, grandparent, or loved one who needs a little extra help at mealtimes, please come find me and let's visit! I would be honored to share these with you.

Glen Rose, I cannot wait to see you!! πŸ¦–πŸ’›

Some moments just stop you in your tracks. πŸ’›

Two of our ladies, side by side at the kitchen counter, carefully putting together a photo frame. No rush. No agenda. Just two people working on something meaningful together.

That's the thing about a home this small β€” there's space for the little things. A craft project in the afternoon. A shared laugh over whether a piece is going to fit. Moments that don't happen when someone's just getting through their day in a big facility.

Here, they have time. They have each other. And they have a home that makes room for all of it. 🌼

Moving a loved one into a care home is one of the hardest decisions a family will ever face. πŸ’›

The fear is real. The grief of watching someone lose the independence they've always had, that's real too. And it deserves to be honored, not brushed aside.

But here's something 15+ years of nursing has taught me: needing support as we age isn't a matter of *if.* It's a matter of *when.* For every one of us.

And the families who make that move *before* a crisis? They experience something completely different.

When there's no emergency driving the decision, your loved one gets to adjust at their own pace. To settle in. To feel safe. To actually feel at home, not just placed somewhere out of desperation.

For us as caregivers, that extra time is everything. 🌼

We get to learn who your loved one truly *is,* their history, their routines, what makes them laugh, what helps them feel calm, what they've loved most throughout their life. We get to know them as a whole person, before memory or physical decline makes that harder.

That kind of knowing changes everything about the care we're able to give.

You don't have to wait for a fall or a hospital visit to start this conversation. If you've been quietly wondering whether now might be the right time, I'd love to talk. No pressure, just an honest conversation between people who care about the same person you do. πŸ’›

Today, our beautiful Ellen turns 84 years old, and we celebrated her in the most magical way! πŸŒΈπŸŽ‚

Ellen is one of those remarkable women who carries a lifetime of love, skill, and grace everywhere she goes. A former Licensed Vocational Nurse AND a wonderfully talented seamstress β€” she has spent decades caring for others and creating beauty with her own two hands. We are so honored she now lets US care for HER here at Marigold Manor. πŸ’›

Her lifelong friends surprised her with a birthday lunch today, and the joy in this room was absolutely priceless. Her dear friend Joan (who also calls Marigold Manor home!) was right there at her side, just as she has been for 20+ years. Their friendship is one of the most beautiful things we get to witness every single day. 🀍

And to make the day even more special β€” her daughters were there for the surprise too. πŸ’• There is nothing quite like being surrounded by the people who love you most.

This is exactly why we do what we do.

At Marigold Manor, we don't just care for our residents β€” we CELEBRATE them. Every birthday, every milestone, every ordinary Tuesday morning. Because growing older is a gift, and every person in our home deserves to feel that deeply.

Happy 84th, sweet Ellen! We love you so very much. πŸŽ‰πŸŒΌ

You've probably toured a few places by now. Smiled through the brochures. Asked all the right questions while something in your gut quietly said... not this one. πŸ’›

I want you to know β€” that feeling matters. Trust it.

A spot has opened at Marigold Manor, and before you scroll past, I need you to understand what that ACTUALLY means here.

We have three residents. Three.

The person who moves into this home won't be one of 40 people in a hallway. They'll be one of three people who sit at a real kitchen table, share morning coffee on a real front porch, and are watched over every day by a nurse who genuinely knows them β€” their history, their habits, the tiny changes that tell you something's off before it becomes an emergency.

Every single person on our staff holds active CPR and First Aid. Every shift. Not just the supervisor on duty. Everyone.

This is what intentional care looks like. This is what we built.

If your family has been quietly searching for something that feels less like a facility and more like HOME... this is the call worth making. 🌼

One of the hardest things I have ever had to do is tell someone I love that she needs to go somewhere else.

Not because I don't want her here. Not because I don't love her. But because loving someone sometimes means making the decision that is best for them, even when it breaks your heart.

She needs a level of care I cannot safely provide. Keeping her here because I can't bear to let her go would mean putting my feelings above her safety. That is not care.

So I am doing the hard thing. Making sure she goes somewhere safe. And promising her she will not disappear from my life just because she is leaving my home.

The right call and the easy call are rarely the same thing. This is the part of caregiving nobody talks about. πŸ’›

9/11 is one of those days that never really leaves you.
It was a day of so much heartbreak, so much loss, and so much fear. But it was also a day that showed us something else too…
People came together.
Neighbors checked on neighbors. Strangers helped strangers. Communities prayed, served, gave, and stood together when the country needed it most.
That has always meant a lot to me.
Because even in the hardest moments, we are reminded that compassion still matters. Love still matters. Showing up for one another still matters.
Today, I’m remembering the lives that were lost, the families forever changed, and the heroes who ran toward danger. And I’m also remembering the unity that rose up in the middle of tragedy.
May we never forget. And may we always choose kindness, compassion, and community. πŸ€πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
