Breastfeeding is a journey filled with love, learning, and resilience — and no one should have to navigate it alone. Not while we’re here.
This month, we celebrate every parent who shows up with courage, every baby growing strong, and every moment of bonding that reminds us why community matters.
A couple of years ago, a new mom came to our OBGYN department feeling overwhelmed and ready to give up on breastfeeding. As a first‑time parent, she wasn’t sure if she was doing things “right.” Her baby often fell asleep while feeding or became frustrated trying — and she felt hopeless.
During her comprehensive perinatal visit with N.P. Claudia Ochoa, this breastfeeding mother received compassionate education and support, learning that breastfeeding is not linear or predictable. With ongoing guidance, she began to build confidence, patience, and persistence.
Today, she has been able to breastfeed her baby for two years, creating a beautiful bond rooted in connection, trust, and love.
Stories like hers are not uncommon — and they remind us why Somos familia.
Our team walks alongside families with guidance, encouragement, and culturally sensitive care, because we believe in trusting each other, caring deeply, and championing fiercely.
Whether you’re a new parent, expecting, or simply curious about breastfeeding resources, our center offers education, one‑on‑one support, and connections to services that help families feel confident and empowered. https://www.svchc.org
