At the upcoming Congress, Carolina Motter Catarino, PhD, will present “Bridging Data and Tissue: Bioinformatics and 3D Bioengineering for Next-Generation Hair Follicle Research” as the Advances in Hair Biology Lecturer.

Dr. Motter Catarino is an expert in bioengineering and toxicology whose research has included pioneering the use of 3D bioprinting to create human skin models and successfully incorporating hair follicles into 3D bioprinted skin models. Today, she leads a multidisciplinary team developing new methodologies for studying the hair cycle and evaluating cosmetic active ingredients.

What’s next in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia?

At the ISHRS 34th World Congress in Rio de Janeiro, renowned hair disease researcher Maria Hordinsky, MD, will present findings from the Phase 3 SCALP Clinical Trial Program evaluating topical clascoterone 5% solution (Breezula) for androgenetic alopecia.

Dr. Hordinsky is the R.W. Goltz Professor and Vice Chair of Research in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Minnesota. With more than 200 publications and internationally recognized expertise in hair diseases and hair follicle biology, she brings decades of clinical and research experience as this year’s Stough Lecturer.
