Something hiding in plain sight. π
Most people don't think of their antiperspirant as a health issue. But aluminum, the active ingredient in most brands, is a heavy metal that accumulates in tissue and doesn't just sit there quietly.
It blocks your sweat glands. Those glands are key elimination pathways for both water and toxins, including metals themselves. When you can't sweat properly during exercise, your body has one fewer route for moving things out.
More concerning from a mineral standpoint: aluminum interferes with voltage-gated sodium and potassium channels in cells. When those channels are disrupted, your electrolyte minerals can't do their jobs. We see it on OligoScan reports regularly β aluminum toxicity accompanied by dysregulation of all six of the major minerals: calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, silicon, sodium, and potassium all at once.
The clients who can't break a proper sweat during workouts, even in heat? Often showing elevated aluminum. It's not a coincidence.
Simple first step: switch to aluminum-free deodorant. Let your body sweat. It's doing that for a reason.
