I believe our bodies rely on wholesome foods, adequate nutrition, clean water, regular sleep, a connection to your spirit and a mostly positive emotional state in order for us to function well and remain healthy. time! My own journey back to health began out of necessity. I was so toxic from years of medicines and poor eating that my body finally revolted and got my attenetion by developing strong and nearly deadly allergic reactions to the most mundane and unexpected things. I had worked for years in the "traditional" medical world with pride. I wrongfully thought I played an important role in being part of a team to help people back to health. What was really happening? Every day, people came in, waited long waits, saw a Dr. who spent less than 10 minutes with them but ordered some type of test (blood, stress, urine etc) wrote a prescription or 3 or 5 and sent them out the door while the next one was being herded in. Day after day, week after week. And you know what? It was the same people week after week. If medicine was truly healing, shouldn't they be healed? One day I'd had enough. I was a single mom of 4 kids. I had no idea what I was going to do or how I would support my kids. I just knew that system of sick care wasn't working. So, a new life began for me in natural medicine. You don't have a prescription medicine deficiency. You have an immune system to protect you if you'll give it the chance. Know your foods. Most of the people I see in my office don't do well with intermittent fasting.
"I don't eat why am I so fat?" πŸ˜ͺ Do you know why?
Because they are in a constant state of adrenal stress. Fight or Flight. 🫨
Stress shuts down your digestive power.
Energy used for "Rest and Digest" is diverted to your brain (to quickly think, analyze and come up with a plan), your arms and legs, hands and feet (to run away or fight). πŸ§ πŸƒ

Over my 20 years as a naturopathic doctor, I've watched health trends come and go. At one point, it seemed everyone was dealing with candida. Then parasites. Then mold and fungal sensitivities.

Today, I'm seeing something different. 🧐

Almost everyone seems to be struggling with depleted minerals, electrolyte imbalances, and digestive challengesβ€”even when they're eating relatively well.

Here's something important to remember:

If you're eating a balanced diet, moving your body, sleeping reasonably well, and supporting your health, you should feel pretty darn good.

Many people don't.
