We fixed it 👏🦇

Without our RBTs and their pivotal role, how can we provide the individuals we serve with the *best* possible care?

Share with an RBT who came in clutch for you during a session 🙌

A special message from our PBS Oregon team. ❤️‍🩹

Our hearts are with the Bend community following the heartbreaking tragedy at Silver Rail Elementary.

In times like these, our loved ones with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) may need extra support processing difficult news and big emotions.

See the tips on how to talk about tragedies with compassion, communicate clearly, recognize signs of distress, and provide reassurance and support.

We are sending love and support to the students, families, educators, first responders, and everyone in our Central Oregon community affected by this tragedy.

What do dining tables and dinosaurs have in common? 👀🦖

Patrick O'Leary, Team PBS Clinical Excellence Manager writes:

"Extinction in behavior analysis has nothing to do with dinosaurs (if you have research to prove me wrong, send it my way). Extinction involves the withholding of reinforcement for a previously reinforced behavior, resulting in a decrease in how often that behavior occurs in the future."

Discover the connection between dining tables and dinosaurs over on the link in our bio 📖

PBS is more than just a part of our name 👀⬇️

While our name may be Positive Behavior Supports *Corp.*, Positive Behavior Support (PBS) is a person-centered approach grounded in ABA principles. PBS emphasizes respect, dignity, and collaboration, focusing on proactive strategies that support long-term success rather than short-term behavior change.

ABA provides the scientific foundation for understanding behavior, while PBS guides how those strategies are applied in real-world settings.

Raise a hand if you’re a school provider! ✋

Shane T. Spiker, PhD, BCBA-D, PBS Clinical Training and Safety Director shares the importance of knowing your role. What does that mean? ⬇️

Sometimes, boundaries can get crossed when working in the school setting by working in multiple capacities and wearing different hats.

As the new school year begins, remember to review your role, the scope of your role, and continue to communicate this with your supervisor, staff, and your clients at large.

It’s incredibly important to practice within your defined role and that you know what your defined role is. This will protect you, your clients, and everyone involved.

Thank you for all you do! 🍎

Did you know Team PBS has an Ethics Committee? The mission is to achieve an organizational culture that establishes, teaches, and assists in ensuring that all team members consistently follow and encourage others to uphold the highest ethical standards in our industry.
