Three busy days in Chicago filled with great conversations, clinical insights, and a shared focus on improving sepsis care in the emergency department.

A few highlights:

• A Medical Directors Section presentation exploring how one ED moved beyond traditional sepsis alerts.
• New research examining host-response sepsis risk stratification in patients with end-stage renal disease.

New research presented at ACEP 2026 evaluates IntelliSep for sepsis risk stratification in patients with end-stage renal disease presenting to the ED with signs and symptoms of infection.

The analysis includes nearly 60,000 patients, including approximately 3,535 patients with ESRD, providing new insight into host-response sepsis risk stratification in this complex patient population.

Another IntelliSep milestone: Baptist Medical Center East in Montgomery is now live.

This launch marks two firsts for Cytovale: our first IntelliSep site in Alabama and our first implementation with a Cerner EMR.

With IntelliSep now available, the Baptist East team has a new tool to support earlier risk stratification for emergency department patients with suspected infection, helping providers make more informed decisions when time matters.

Getting from contract to go-live takes close collaboration across laboratory, clinical, IT and operational teams, and we’re grateful to everyone at Baptist East and Cytovale who made this launch possible.

We’re excited to see the impact at Baptist East and build on this partnership across the system.
