September is Sepsis Awareness Month. In the U.S., at least 1.7 million people develop sepsis every year, and roughly 350,000 don't survive.

All month, we're raising awareness of the signs and pushing for faster recognition in emergency departments everywhere.

One health system found 30,000 unnecessary hospital days hiding in their sepsis workflow. Here's where costs like that hide — and what to do about them. Full breakdown 👇

100,000+ patient results delivered.

That's the number of emergency department patients who have now had access to IntelliSep — a rapid, objective blood test that helps clinicians assess sepsis risk with a single blood draw.

Sepsis moves fast. Every hour of delayed treatment raises the risk of poor outcomes. Reaching this scale means more EDs across the country now have another data point to act on sooner, backed by a growing body of real-world use.

100,000+ results is a milestone for us — but for the patients behind those tests, it means faster answers and faster treatment decisions.

Please join us in welcoming Marc Nash, MBA as Chief Operations Officer at Cytovale.

Marc brings 20+ years of medtech operations leadership, most recently as EVP of Operations, R&D and Service at Outset Medical, where he helped scale the company through its IPO and commercial growth.

As Cytovale scales IntelliSep's commercial footprint, he'll oversee our operations organization end to end — from engineering and manufacturing through quality, supply chain, and technical support.

Welcome to the team, Marc!

New clinical evidence presented at ADLM 2026.

Texas Health Resources presented three posters at this year’s meeting: two reporting six-month outcomes with IntelliSep, and one detailing how Texas Health Presbyterian Hosptial Denton (THDN) conducted its method validation in the lab. Together, they show how the implementation of IntelliSep helped THDN reduce alert fatigue and unnecessary testing while maintaining high-quality sepsis care:

• 46% fewer Code Sepsis alerts
• 37% fewer blood culture orders
• 43% fewer blood culture contaminations

All three posters are now available for anyone who couldn’t attend ADLM or wants to revisit the data. https://na2.hubs.ly/H071LNj0

Missed our discussion at ADLM 2026?

A highlight of this year's meeting: hearing directly from laboratory leaders about how earlier sepsis risk assessment is changing clinical practice.

"Evolving the Standard of Care in Early Sepsis Testing” features Nate Ledeboer, PhD, Chief, Clinical Pathology, Medical College of Wisconsin, and Alyssa Hutto, MHA, BSMT (ASCP), Director of Laboratory Services, Texas Health Resources, in a discussion covering:

• Challenges in early sepsis recognition
• Why measuring immune dysregulation matters
• Real-world implementation experience with IntelliSep
• Opportunities to improve laboratory and emergency department workflows

We built IntelliSep’s implementation model around one assumption: a test result only changes outcomes if it reaches the right person, at the right moment, connected to a clear decision pathway.

So we don't just deliver IntelliSep to the lab. We work with ED, laboratory, and IT teams to integrate it into ED protocols, define clinical care pathways based on the results, and optimize what's working after go-live.

Less "plug and play." More "how does your team actually make decisions at 3 am?"

Day 1 at ! đź‘‹

We're live at Booth #4129. Stop by to see IntelliSep® in action and learn how hospitals are using host-response testing to support earlier assessment of patients with suspected infection.

Don't miss today's abstract presentation on the impact of IntelliSep implementation on blood culture utilization and contamination rates.

SEP-1 is now tied to reimbursement. And CMS is indicating a move toward a focus on outcomes, not just bundle completion.

Most sepsis workflows weren't designed for that environment. Dr. Hollis "Bud" O'Neal breaks down five hidden costs already accumulating in your system, and what it takes to get ahead of them before the measurement landscape finishes shifting.

If you're responsible for sepsis performance, this one's worth your time. The measurement landscape is shifting faster than most workflows can keep up with. And the costs are already accumulating, they're just not showing up on your dashboards yet.
