Low ferritin is one of the most overlooked causes of fatigue, brain fog, hair shedding, exercise intolerance, and heart-racing symptoms — especially in women.

Many lab ranges label ferritin as “normal” even when levels are far below what your body actually needs to feel well. In clinical practice, many women begin experiencing symptoms long before anemia appears on a CBC. That means you can feel exhausted, short of breath, and mentally foggy while your labs are still marked “normal.”

Supporting healthy iron stores is about more than just taking an iron supplement. We also need to evaluate:

• Root causes of depletion (heavy cycles, gut infections, pregnancy, gut absorption issues, diet)
• Proper iron forms and dosing
• Cofactors like vitamin A, copper, magnesium and protein intake
• Ongoing monitoring to safely restore optimal levels

If you’ve been told your labs are “fine” but you still feel drained, it may be worth taking a closer look at ferritin.

Not to be dramatic, but every millennial mom deserves healthcare that looks for the root cause, not just another prescription.

You deserve someone who asks why you’re exhausted, why your hair is thinning, why your periods changed, why you can’t lose weight anymore, why you’re bloated after everything you eat, or why your anxiety suddenly feels different than it used to.

You deserve more than hearing, “Your labs are normal.”

You deserve time to be heard, a provider who connects the dots, and a plan that addresses the root cause of your symptoms—not just covers them up.

And you shouldn’t have to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket to get that kind of care.

Hi, I’m Lindsey. I’m a functional medicine nurse practitioner with over 15 years in healthcare and founder of a telemedicine practice focused on women’s hormones, gut health, thyroid health, fertility, and metabolic health.

I work with patients in multiple states and accept many major insurance plans, because I believe root-cause healthcare should be accessible to the women and families who need it most.

If you’ve been told everything is “normal” but you know something still isn’t right, you’re exactly who I built this practice for.

Women with hormone, gut, and mold-related symptoms — meet your new favorite gentle detox support.

Now you can make your meals work for your liver and digestion instead of against it.

A few easy ways to support healthy bile flow:

🌱Add bitter greens like arugula or dandelion to meals
🥚Prioritize choline-rich foods like egg yolks and salmon
🍵Use herbs like ginger, turmeric, milk thistle, and artichoke regularly

Bile is essential for carrying excess hormones, toxins, mold byproducts, and cholesterol out of the body. But it also has to be moving properly and have the right viscosity to do its job effectively.

When bile gets sluggish or thick, detox slows down — which can contribute to bloating, constipation, estrogen dominance symptoms, headaches, skin issues, and poor fat digestion. Not to mention contribute to issues like small intestinal bacterial overgrowth!

Healthy detox is less about harsh cleanses and more about supporting the systems your body already uses every single day.

There’s nothing more frustrating than eating “healthy” and still feeling bloated

If you want your gut to stop reacting to everything you eat, this is the approach I’d recommend to every woman trying to heal her digestion

And here’s why:

Most people jump straight to high fiber → this overwhelms the gut

A sensitive gut needs time to adapt

Slowly increasing fiber helps reduce bloating + improve digestion

Simple fiber foods to start adding in:
* Chia seeds
* Oats
* Kiwi
* Berries
* Sweet potato
* Lentils
* Avocado

This is how you get to more regular digestion, less bloating, and better energy

It’s simple, sustainable, and works with your body

Be sure to save this the next time you’re trying to “eat healthier” but your gut isn’t on board
