We have been closely following the happenings regarding the Hawk fire and our hearts are with all of those affected by the fires. Please know that if any of our TLC community need support during this time, we are here!

To that end, TLC will be offering a free clinic hour at 3:00pm this Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (Monday 8/24/26, Wednesday 8/26/26, and
Friday 8/28/2026) for drop-in free care for minor urgent concerns (ie. cuts, scrapes, respiratory difficulty due to smoke, ear infections, etc) for all of our established patients who have been evacuated.

No appointment needed but please arrive as close to 3:00pm as possible so that we can send our staff home to their families in a timely manner, as well.

Meet Vanessa! She focuses on preventative care and believes this to be the cornerstone to healthier lives and futures. Vanessa supports her patients by providing evidence based care while still maintaining patient needs at the forefront of healthcare planning.

Vanessa has been in the nursing/medical field since 2017. She has worked in various fields such as home health, psychiatry, pediatrics, community health, education, and private care. She is a Family Nurse practitioner certified through the AANP.

Vanessa is married, and together with her husband, has two dogs. She loves podcasts, reading, and enjoying time with her family. Vanessa was born and raised in Utah, and has been in the Reno area since 2018.

Meet Beth! She is the owner of TLC Family Wellness , a family nurse practitioner & certified nurse midwife.

Beth is passionate about the health of the whole family. She has been working with moms and babies for over 20 years.

Beth approaches health care from a holistic and integrative perspective, looking for the root of the issue vs treating symptoms alone. She uses exercise, nutrition, supplements, herbal remedies, stress reduction, and traditional as well as western medicine practices to find what works best for each individual client. She follows the midwifery model of care and values shared decision making with her clients. She provides evidence based information and believes that families will make the decision that is best for them. Beth promotes physiological birth without unnecessary intervention and supports families throughout prenatal care, labor, birth, postpartum, and newborn care, as well as well woman and primary care for the whole family.

Happy 4th of July from everyone here at TLC Family Wellness 🇺🇸

Our office will be closed tomorrow through the holiday weekend and will reopen on Monday, July 6th. Please note that response times to calls, emails, and messages may be delayed during this time.

We want to let our TLC Family Wellness families know that, effective December 31, 2026, TLC Family Wellness will no longer be participating in the SilverSummit or Prominence Health insurance networks.

Did you know here at TLC Family Wellness we offer a breastfeeding preparation class? Ran by our IBCLC, this class is a gentle guide to starting your breast-feeding journey, whether this is your first or your fifth baby! You’ll learn, latching techniques, feeding cues, how to tell if baby is getting enough, how to avoid discomfort, when to ask for help, and so much more.

You’ll leave this class with a cheat sheet guide to your first few days of breast-feeding as well as several other valuable resources.

This class is offered on an every-other-month basis @ 3:00pm. Call the office today to reserve your spot.

Did you know over here at TLC Wellness we offer a birth preparation class? Bring your partner/birth support people and come learn labor and birth comfort measures, positioning options and how partners can offer effective support. Feel empowered with new tools, a better understanding of the physiology of birth, and confidence in your body‘s ability.

Feel free to bring a meal or snacks, something to drink, a pillow, yoga, mat, and exercise/birth ball if you have one. You’ll leave this class with a cheat sheet guide to labor and other resources.

This class runs on an every-other-month basis at 3pm.

The last few month have been super busy at the office and we are doing our best to hire additional providers so that we can continue to accept new patients. We want to make sure that as we accept new patients we can still have adequate availability for our current patients. Happy Holidays to all of our TLC family! Thank you for being with us and for always challenging us to grow and learn. We have been so incredibly blessed by our community.

Please note that our office will be closed December 24-26 for Christmas. If you have any concerns during this time, please go the the Children's ER or Urgent Care. We will answer all other questions within 2 business days when we return to the office on December 27th.
